Outage Coordination Planned Resource Timeline

QSE Request for Approval

ERCOT Approval or Rejection

Three days 1800 hours, two days prior to start of proposed Outage

Four to eight days 1800 hours, three days prior to start of proposed Outage

Nine to 45 days Five Business days after submission. Outages are automatically accepted if not rejected at the end of the fifth Business Day following receipt of request.

Greater than 45 days ERCOT must accept, but may discuss reliability and scheduling to minimize cost.

Outage Coordination Maintenance Timeline

Definition: Initiated manuallyto remove equipment fromservice to perform work on components than could be postponed briefly but is required to prevent potential forced outage and cannot be postponed until the next planned outage.

Level 1: Applies to equipment which must be removed from service within 24 hours. (M1)

Level 2: Identifies equipment which must be removed from service within 7 days. (M2)

Level 3: Applies to equipment which must be removed from service within 30 days. (M3)

ALWAYS review the outages after they were submitted by ERCOT on your behalf to make sure that the outage does exactly what you want it to do when you want it to.

To update an outage email the most up-to-date form with the new updated information added.

New Equipment

Create plan for switching from old to new equipmentMay require pseudo equipment

i.e. Breakers to switch between equipment…

Submit a NOMCR for all new and pseudo equipment
