BIKESANTA FE EVENING BIKE RIDE Thu., Aug. 1; Wed., Aug. 28; 5:30-8 p.m. Come for the ride, the fresh air, the exercise, meet people, discover the world of cycling or just enjoy a low cost family activity. This ride has something for everyone. Bike ride from Outdoor Rec. 15 miles south (downhill) down the Santé Fe trail to America the Beautiful Park. A van will be waiting to bring you back up. Space is limited. Ages: 12+. Cost: $5, kids under 16 are free but still need to sign up.

PHANTOM CANYON DOWNHILL BIKE RIDE Sat., Aug. 3; 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. est. Exciting rides in the beautiful and historic Phantom Canyon. Be prepared to drop more than 4,000 feet of elevation in 28 miles. Beautiful views, tight canyon walls and tunnels make this our most popular single day bike event. Activity includes: transportation, guide, support and snack lunch. Note: this is a dirt road with vehicle support, not single track. Ages: 12+. Cost: $35

BIKE RIDE DOWN “PIKES PEAK”! Fri., Aug. 16; Sat., Aug. 24; 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. est. Get ready to enjoy more than 7000’ of elevation drop over about 21 miles. Meet at the Outdoor Rec., inspect and load bikes, drive up to the summit of Pikes Peak, unload, take in the view then enjoy a d ownhill ride of a lifetime. At the end of the ride we’ll stop at the “Wines of Colorado” restaurant before we head home. People’s appetites and food preference vary too much for us to include the meal, so bring some money. Ages: 14+, height:4’9”+. Activity includes: transportation, Pike’s Peak entry, guides and snacks. Note: this is a paved road with vehicle support, not single track. Cost: $49 weekday trip, $59 weekend trip.

“OUT THERE” BIKE REPAIR CLASS Wed. & Thu., Aug. 21-22; 5:30-9 p.m. This is a two-part class is held from 5:30-9:00 p.m. two evenings a week. Ever have a problem with your bike out on the trail, and not know how to fix it? Learn chain repair, derailleur and brake adjustments, wheel truing, tire repair and much more. Bring your own bike or we’ll provide one. Cost: $39 one time fee.

R4R ELIGIBILTY: The Recharge for Resiliency initiative is directed specifically toward the Active Duty and Reserve members to include their families at each base. This means that retirees, civilians and foreign military are not eligible for these R4R discounted rates. BEGINNER ROCK CLIMBING Sun., Aug. 18; 7 a.m.-2 p.m. est. Come out and learn the basic skills and techniques for this popular Colorado sport. Ages: 9+ (any minors must be accompanied by an adult). Activity includes: transportation, technical gear and a AMGA Certified Single Pitch Instructor/Rock Guide. Cost: $70

NEW! PORTABLE CLIMBING TOWER Call to schedule a climbing tower program this summer! A great activity to pair with a squadron event, BBQ or party on grounds. Our portable climbing tower can accommodate up to 4 climbers at a time, is 35ft tall, and comes with all the staff and equipment necessary. Schedule a 4 hour day or a 6 hour day and get all of your guests up the tower and have some fun! Call for available dates. Cost: $500 for 4 hours, $700 for 6 hours. RAFT/KAYAKAll trips meet and depart from the east side of the Outdoor Recreation Center (where the camping trailers are parked) at 6:45 a.m. and return about 5 p.m.

All rafting trips include: transportation from the Academy to the Arkansas River and back, all rafting equipment and required personal gear, lunch, permits and guides. Our primary concern is for your safety. All guides are state-certified and hold a First Aid and CPR certification.

ROYAL GORGE FULL DAY – CLASS IV-V Aug. 4, 10, 11, 18, 24, 25. Our trips always operate on class 4-5 whitewater and may include sections of river such as the Royal Gorge and Big Horn Sheep Canyon depending on water levels. This trip is for folks who want to step up the adrenaline and feel the thunder! Not for meek or weak! Minimum age is 16 & 50+ Lbs. Cost: $95. Custom dates at the same rates are also available mid week!

BIG HORN-FULL DAY –CLASS III (IV HIGH WATER) Aug. 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, 25. Our Family Class rafting trips are great for first timers, groups of varying experience, kids, and family/squadron fun. These trips operate on class 3 whitewater, and during the early season, sometimes have one or two class 4 rapids as well. Big Horn Sheep Canyon is our primary location for this trip Cost is $75/Adult & $65/Child (ages 7-12 & 50+ Lbs.) Custom dates at the same rates are also available mid week!

BROWNS CANYON FULL DAY– CLASS III (IV HIGH WATER) With whitewater similar to our Family Class rafting trips, Browns Canyon is a more remote feeling stretch of river with awesome scenery! Exciting white-water rapids such as Big Drop, Raft Ripper, Widow Maker and more! This trip is fun for all ages! Cost is $95/Adult, $75/Child (ages 8+ & 50+ Lbs.) Available for private parties of 10 or more only. Call to schedule your trip!

OVERNIGHT RAFT TRIPS Overnight includes: All rafting gear for both days (helmet, PFD, wetsuit, splash top), tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, two lunches, one dinner and breakfast, and transportation.

CUSTOM OVERNIGHT RAFTING COMBO TRIPS We often have groups who want their own private overnight trips for their family, friends, co-workers, or other groups. You can schedule these with us throughout the season and pick and choose the days, activities and river sections you want to raft. Choose climbing, zip-lining, or duckying to add a new flavor to the trip, or raft both days. Everything else normally included in our overnights also comes with these trips. These need to be scheduled at least 3 weeks ahead of time, but the sooner you can get it scheduled, the more dates we will have available! (ages dependent on activity and 50+lbs). Cost: $260/person

NEW! DUCKY DAYS Fri., Aug. 2, 16, 23, 30; 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Burn those Hot July and Aug. days away on the river in your own inflatable kayak. ‘Duckies’ as we call them are one of the most fun ways to experience the river without needing a great deal of experience. We will take you to a section with a couple rapids and fun float sections. A great way to float away the day! Ages: 12+. Cost: $65/person. Activity includes: guide and lunch. Max 8 people.

LEARN TO KAYAK POOL SESSION Tue., Aug. 6; 8-10 p.m. in the Fitness Ctr. pool. For first-time kayakers. Learn basic skills including basic paddle strokes, boat control, balance, and T-rescues. Includes Kayak and ACA Certified Instructor. 4 person min. Cost is $30. Ages: 9+ and 75+ lbs.

KAYAK FAST TRACK PROGRAM Call to schedule custom trip dates for your group. All-inclusive, intensive kayaking instruction. Intro to Kayaking class, Intro to Kayak Roll in a pool, a lake session, and Intro River Trip are all included. 3 person class min./6 max. Call for details, 333-2940. Ages: 9+ and 75+ lbs. Cost is $220 and includes transportation and all gear.

OUTDOOR LASER TAG Sun., Aug. 4; Noon-2:30 p.m.; Fri, Aug. 9; 6-8:30 p.m. Meet at FamCamp. Our 6-pound metal guns with red dot sights look like MP5s and use harmless infrared technology. Our field is huge! Lots of trees, rocks, bushes barrels and palettes to use as cover. We will set up a variety of games that will test your individual skills as well as how well you work together as a team. Activity includes: Refs, and needed gear. Or you can set up an Special Group Arrangements (SGA’s) are available for friends, units, team building activities, birthdays and more for 150 minutes for only $200 for as many as you want and even rotate people in and out. Contact us early for availability and booking. 10 pers. min., 20 pers. max. Ages: 9+. Cost: $15/person. for a 150-minute session. Call 719-333-2940.

FARISH FUN DAYS Fri., Aug. 2; Tue., Aug. 13; Tue, Aug. 27. Come join us at Farish for some fun outdoor activities! Activities may include kayaking, mountain biking, stand up paddle boarding, Dutch oven cooking classes, hiking or outdoor photography guided trips. We will be posting which activities we will be offering each month closer to the assigned dates. Cost differs dependent on activity.

FARISH OVERNIGHT TRIP & MT. HERMAN DH BIKE RIDE Sat-Sun., Aug. 17-18. Meet at 1 p.m. at Outdoor Rec on Saturday and return on Sunday at 3 p.m. est. We will inspect and load bikes, and drive up to the camp ground above the clouds, Farish Recreation area. We will be staying in their modern rustic duplexes that include bedding, bathrooms, kitchenettes and breathtaking views of Pikes Peak. A Dutch oven dinner and breakfast is included as well as snacks. After breakfast we will be driving to a perfect spot to start our Mountain Biking trip down Mt. Herman and eventually back to USAFA (about 14 miles of downhill fun). If you do not wish to bike back you can ride in the van and enjoy the view. Cost: $95 for ages 17+ and $75 for ages 16 and below. NOTE Must be 13+ to ride bike down Mt Herman. Younger may enjoy the van ride down. Activity includes: transportation, overnight stay in

Farish Duplex, dinner, breakfast, snacks, ½ price bike rentals through USAFA Outdoor Rec.

CPR, AED AND FIRST AID CERTIFICATION Sat., Aug. 31; 9 a.m.-3 p.m. (with 1/2h lunch break) Get your American Red Cross Adult / Child CPR, AED and First Aid Certification with Certified Red Cross Instructors. We teach Adult / Child CPR, AED and First Aid, rescue breathing, procedures for choking victims and more 1st aid training. Our goal is to teach you the skills so that in the event of an emergency you will have the skills and confidence to assist someone in need. Cert is good for two years. Cost: $75/person.+ RECERTIFICATION Wed., Aug. 21; 5:30-7:30 p.m. (registration closes Aug. 14, 6 p.m.) This is a hybrid recertification course that includes three hours of online training and two hours of skill test. The online training link will be sent to you one week prior to the scheduled skills test and must be completed before attending the skills class. Registration will close one week prior to the scheduled skills test. You must be able to rovide proof of previous certification and not have exceeded expiration of certification by more than 30 days. Cost: $50/person.

SPLASH DAYS Schedule your Group for a private program! We will bring out all of our floatable things such as our stand up paddle boards, pedal kayaks, a raft or two, and a few other crafts on Kettle Lakes on base for you to try out and play in the water. We will also provide some grilled food and refreshments, and be roaming around for any instruction you want on one of our many items of floating equipment. Ages: 9+ and 50+ lbs. for water activities. Cost: $30/person. Reserve your spot 72 hours in advance.

TRAVEL TRAILER CLASSMandatory Travel Trailer class (May-Sept); FREE class held every Tue. & Thu. from 5-6 p.m. is mandatory for any customer who is renting one of our travel trailers. And Wed, 5-6 p.m. for A-liners. Topics include: leveling, set-up, propane, water systems & electrical systems. We suggest you bring your towing vehicle to class for our staff to conduct FREE electrical and

hitch-height checks. Please register for this FREE class by calling 333-4475. RESERVATION POLICYActive duty can reserve high-demand equipment a maximum of 90 days from date of pick up. All other eligible customers can reserve 60 days from date of pick up. All reservable items require a full payment upon reservation. Any reservation canceled will be charged 10% cancellation fee. Any reservation canceled within 72 hours will lose 50% of their deposit, unless it is a documented military commitment or medical emergency. PICNIC AREASOn-base Picnic areas are available for rent until Oct. 1. Make reservations now for our pavilions during the 2019 season. Rates are $50 for half day 9 am-2:30 pm or 3:30-9 pm and $75 for full day 9am-9pm. Please contact the ORC @ 333-4753 for availability. *Note: All military gatherings at the Base Picnic Areas are subject to alcohol policies and procedures outlined in AFI 34-219 and its USAFA Supplement FARISH Open for the 2019 season. Daily use goes through Oct 14. From Oct 17-27, Farish is open Thur - Sun only.

Reservations Policy: 90 days in advance only for Active Duty personnel and 60 days in advance for all other eligible users. Customers are authorized to make reservations a year in advance for large events that require at least 50% of the lodging. These groups will ONLY be scheduled Sundays to Thursdays (no weekends). ORC INFO & POLICIES

• Full payment for all trips is due at time of registration.

• Cancellations within 72 hours of the activity date will NOT be refunded or rescheduled unless otherwise stated.

• Cancellations 30 days or more before a multi-day activity start date are refundable in full unless otherwise stated. Cancellations within 30 days of a multi-day activity will not be refunded unless someone takes your place on

the activity. Any refunds issued in this case will result in a service fee of 10% of the total price for the activity.

• “No Shows” are non-refundable and will not be rescheduled.

• All trips are subject to cancellation due to unsafe weather or conditions outside of our control. In this event, the trip will be rescheduled or you may opt for a refund minus irretrievable deposits. In the case of cancellation duetoinsufficientparticipation,afullrefundwillbeissued.
