MEDALLION SIGNATURE GUARANTEE If you are administering an estate or dealing with a client whoowns US/Canadian assets and you are required to transfer/sellthe stocks, you will need to obtain a Medallion Guarantee Stampbefore the transaction can take place. The requirements for thisservice are strict and must be precisely met for the Stamp to beprovided. IWC have a trusted supplier in the USA who is amember of a recognised and approved Medallion GuaranteeStamping Program. They will verify the identity of the executors,beneficiaries or share owners signing the transfer/sale form andprovide IWC with the Medallion Guarantee Stamp, on your behalf.

US/CANADIAN TRANSFER & SALE SERVICESIWC can also deal with the full process of transferring or sellingshares listed in the USA or Canada. In dealing with the transferand sale of shares in the USA or Canada it is very important thatthe requirements are met first time as any incorrect documentssubmitted will result in rejection and could considerably delay thewinding up of the assets in an estate. The requirements can becomplicated and time consuming without knowledge of how tocomplete the documents that must be submitted to theUS/Canadian transfer agents. IWC can deal with the transfer ofUS shares for a very competitive price. These services include IWCobtaining the Medallion Guarantee Stamp.

BANKRUPTCY SEARCHESAre you distributing funds from an estate? If so you are requiredto run bankruptcy searches on any beneficiaries living overseasas part of your due diligence. At IWC we can offer bankruptcysearches for a number of jurisdictions overseas including the USA,Canada, Australia, Spain, Italy and many more.

OVERSEAS RESEALS OF PROBATE If you are administering an estate which includes an overseas assetyou may be required to have the UK Grant of Probate resealed inanother jurisdiction. We can arrange for UK Grants to be resealedthrough our reliable agents in Jersey, Australia and others.

SHARE VALUATIONS When dealing with Estate Administration it is important thatExecutors or Personal Representatives obtain correct valuations forstocks and shares to declare to HMRC. IWC can offer assistanceshould you require a formal valuation as required for Inheritance Taxforms or indeed for any other purpose. If required we can alsoprovide a share verification service for which we would require acopy of the death certificate and details of the shares that arebelieved to be held. These services are also available to privateindividuals who may require shares to be valued formally for taxreturn or research purposes.

TRANSFER OR SALE OF UK SHARESLeading on from the Share Valuation service, once the shares havebeen valued and the Grant of Probate has been issued IWC can dealwith the Transfer or Sale of the shares on your behalf. The serviceincludes confirming the shareholding and registering the Grant ofProbate with the UK registrar and, if necessary, replacing any lostshare certificates. IWC will prepare the Transfer or Sale forms neededto dispose of or move the stock out of the name of the deceased. Ifany share certificates have been lost or stolen then the registrarwould charge for their replacement and any such fee would berecharged as a disbursement on the final invoice.
