Block diagram Overview Although digital sensors have many advantages, not all physical magnitudes can be measured with this sensors. For this restriction, Zolertia launches the family of analog sensors that are fully compatible with both Z1 and Z1SP devices. The first analog sensor created by Zolertia is ANLG001 and includes a CO- D4 sensor (Carbon Monoxide). This is a very small sensor with a long-term stability and reliable operation, well beyond the two-years. ANLG001 has a sensitivity of 880µV/ppm (40µA/ppm) and includes control and signal conditioning circuitry ready for use with the Z1 platform. In spite of being an analog sensor, ANLG001 consumption is very low because only the control, measurement converter and amplifier circuits consume energy. Typically, the entire board consumption is 6µA and the maximum is 12µA. Others gains are allowed changing the resistor R6 that functions as Rload in the Designing a potentiostatic circuit application note from Alphasense. To download this application note see the documentations links above. CO-D4 is plugged to the board with PCB sockets. For this reason, it is possible change the sensor without risk of damage.

Technical dataGetting startedTo start using the Anlg001, just plug thesensor into a Z1(SP) in the 3-pinPhidget Port with the included cableyou will find in the package. The easiest way to use this analogsensor is trying one of the examples inthe Zolertia wiki for both Contiki andTinyOS.As an analog sensor with measureconverter current/voltage, the obtainedreading will be a voltage measurement. This voltage depends of the value ofppm detected by the CO-D4 with asensibility of 880µV/ppm.As a result of their chemical structure, technical characteristics of the sensormay be affected by storage conditions. It is encouraged to read the specificdocuments to take into account thesepossible differences and warrantyissues.
