Block diagramOverviewAlthough digital sensors have manyadvantages, not all physical magnitudescan be measured with this sensors. Forthis restriction, Zolertia launches thefamily of analog sensors that are fullycompatible with both Z1 and Z1SPdevices.The first analog sensor created byZolertia is ANLG001 and includes a CO-D4 sensor (Carbon Monoxide). This is avery small sensor with a long-termstability and reliable operation, wellbeyond the two-years.ANLG001 has a sensitivity of880µV/ppm (40µA/ppm) and includescontrol and signal conditioning circuitryready for use with the Z1 platform. In spite of being an analog sensor,ANLG001 consumption is very lowbecause only the control, measurementconverter and amplifier circuitsconsume energy. Typically, the entireboard consumption is 6µA and themaximum is 12µA.Others gains are allowed changing the
resistor R6 that functions as Rload inthe Designing a potentiostatic circuitapplication note from Alphasense. Todownload this application note see thedocumentations links above.CO-D4 is plugged to the board with PCBsockets. For this reason, it is possiblechange the sensor without risk ofdamage.

Technical dataGetting startedTo start using the Anlg001, just plug thesensor into a Z1(SP) in the 3-pinPhidget Port with the included cableyou will find in the package. The easiest way to use this analogsensor is trying one of the examples inthe Zolertia wiki for both Contiki andTinyOS.As an analog sensor with measureconverter current/voltage, the obtainedreading will be a voltage measurement. This voltage depends of the value ofppm detected by the CO-D4 with asensibility of 880µV/ppm.As a result of their chemical structure, technical characteristics of the sensormay be affected by storage conditions. It is encouraged to read the specificdocuments to take into account thesepossible differences and warrantyissues.
