Location

• The winery is located in Montalcino, a small town near Siena.

• Montalcino is in the heart of south Tuscany, far from heavy traffic and the main industrialized areas.

• Created by age-old traditions and culture, which has molded the landscape and fundamentally shaped its social-economic appearance.

History

• The 14th century Palazzo and vineyards were acquired in 1975 by Giulio Consonno

• Some of the positive contributions putting Montalcino on the world map are: – the introduction of the "Cru" (Montosoli)

concept in 1975– the first experiments with barriques in '79– the production in '77 of the first Grappa from a

winery– the first Futures (purchasing wine before its release) for Brunello 1985.

• The estate pioneered the technique of aging its IGT wines in small French oak barrels, limiting the time spent in oak to enhance each wine's personality.

• The property was acquired by the Angelini family in 2002

Philosophy• An innovative leader, elegance, finesse, and a fruitier, richer style are the trademarks of Altesino’s wines

and have earned the estate a position among the very top producers of Brunello.• The company philosophy has always been to create high quality wines and this is why so much attention

is devoted to every single detail, not only at each stage of production, but also to their marketing, including communications and image.

Building The Brand:

1. The FIRST to age IGT wines in small French oak barrels2. The FIRST to introduce the concept of ‘Cru’ wines3. The FIRST to offer Brunello futures4. Altesino is the leader and pioneer of the Brunello category5. Position Altesino Brunello high volume placements On and Off Premise amongst the most well

known and distributed Montalcino estates6. Secure stability via effective pricing and timely vintage transitions7. Rosso di Altesino should be proposed for BTG in both Italian focused accounts and in the broader

market8. Among the first to plant Cabernet Sauvignon in the area, as well as championing the use of

barrique aging for shorter periods, resulting in refined wines that were less dominated by oak flavors
