“I definitely think AP courses are difficult, however they are beneficial. I personally took the two AP courses to push myself and see how well I would do. I wanted to see if I could meet the challenge that was put in front of me and not back out or feel intimidated. While taking these classes I always knew that my teachers were there if I needed any kind of help and there were also other students that I could go and ask if my teacher was not available. I would recommend AP classes to incoming students of color because I want them to know that it’s going to push them and you have to put your best foot forward and be invested in the process. AP courses (at least for me) are not courses that a student can just get through by doing nothing.”
