Cutting

Note: All strips are cut across the width of the fabric (perpendicular to selvages) unless noted otherwise.

A. 24121-X (panel) • Cut panel 221/2" x 40" keeping design centered.

B. 24122-X (border stripe)• From the length of the fabric, cut two sections 10" x 401/2" as shown.

C. 24123-B (blue tossed owl print)• Cut one 71/4" strip; subcut (4) 71/4" x 71/2" rectangles.

D. 24124-A (brown leaf print)• Use Template #1 to trace and cut two triangle shapes.

E. 24124-G (green leaf print)• Use Template #3 to trace and cut two triangle shapes.

F. 24125-B (white/blue floral print)• Use Template #4 to trace and cut two triangles and two reversed triangles (total = four triangles).• Cut (1) 31/2" strip; subcut (4) 31/2" x 33/4" rectangles.

G. 24125-O (white/orange floral print)• Use Template #4 to trace and cut two triangles and two reversed triangles (total = four triangles).• Cut (1) 31/2" strip; subcut (4) 31/2" x 33/4" rectangles.

L. 24128-A (brown dot)• Cut (1) 1" strip; subcut (2) 1" x 2" rectangles and (4) 1" x 31/2" rectangles.

M. 24128-B (blue dot)• Cut (1) 2" strip; subcut (2) 2" x 71/2" rectangles.• Cut (6) 21/2" strips for binding.

N. 24128-H (green dot)• Use Template #3 to trace and cut two triangles

Construction

Block #1

1. Sew one (H) triangle to the left side of one (D) triangle. Sew one reverse (H) triangle to the opposite side of the (D) triangle. Press seams toward the (H) triangles. Repeat to make two units.

2. Sew one (H) 2" x 33/4" rectangle to both sides of one (L) 1" x 2" rectangle. Press toward the (H) rectangles. Repeat to make two units.

3. Sew one (K) 2" x 71/2" rectangle to the bottom of one unit from step 2. Press toward the (K) rectangle. Repeat to make two units.

4. Sew one unit from step 1 to the top of one unit from step 3. Press toward the bottom unit. Repeat to complete two Block #1.

Block #2

5. Sew one (F) triangle to the left side of one (N) triangle. Sew the reverse (F) triangle to the opposite side of the (N) triangle. Press seams toward the (F) triangles. Repeat to make two units.

6. Sew one (F) 31/2" x 33/4" rectangle to both sides of one (L) 1" x 31/2" rectangle. Press toward the (F) rectangles. Repeat to make two units.

7. Sew one (M) 2" x 71/2" rectangle to the bottom of one unit from step 6. Press toward the (M) rectangle. Repeat to make two units.

8. Sew one unit from step 5 to the top of one unit from step 7. Press toward the bottom unit. Repeat to complete two Block #2.

Block #3

9. Sew one (G) triangle to the left side of one (E) triangle. Sew the reverse (G) triangle to the opposite side of the (E) triangle. Press seams toward the (G) triangles. Repeat to make two units.

10. Sew one (G) 31/2" x 33/4" rectangle to both sides of one (L) 1" x 31/2" rectangle. Press toward the (G) rectangles. Repeat to make two units.

11. Sew one (I) 2" x 71/2" rectangle to the bottom of one unit from step 6. Press toward the (I) rectangle. Repeat to make two units.

12. Sew one unit from step 9 to the top of one unit from step 11. Press toward the bottom unit. Repeat to complete two Block #3.

Center panel & side units

13. Sew one (J) 21/2" x 40" strip to both sides of the (A) panel. Press toward the frame strips.

14. Referring to diagram for correct placement, sew one each of Blocks #1, #2 and #3 alternately with two (C) 71/4" x 71/2" rectangles. Press toward the (C) rectangles.

15. Referring to diagram for correct placement, sew one each of Blocks #1, #2 and #3 alternately with two (C) 71/4" x 71/2" rectangles. Press toward the (C) rectangles.

16. Sew left and right side units to the framed panel. Press toward the panel.

17. Referring to quilt image, sew top and bottom (B) borders to the quilt center. Press toward the borders.

Finishing

18. Prepare backing using two fabric widths and horizontal seam/s. Press.

19. Layer prepared backing, batting and quilt top. Baste and quilt as desired.

20. Trim layers even with quilt top.

21. Prepare binding with (M) 21/2" strips. Sew binding to quilt top using your preferred method.
