Michelin Tires for Michelin Tires for Embraer 170 /190 FamilyEmbraer 170 /190 Family
Michelin nose and main tires are fully approved by Embraer on the 190 and 195 family of aircraft.
Tires are undergoing approval at Embraer for the 170 and 175 family; − formal approval is expected to be received 2Q 2010.
The main tires employ NZG technology for:− Superior LPT performance thus reducing operational costs.− Lower tire weight leading to operational fuel savings.− More robust design which provides increased FOD resistance.
Main tires are designed to be retreadable − (From 2Q 2009 for ERJ190 - Kansas City)

Weight saving with Michelin radial tires versus bias:• Ship set weight saving on Embraer 190: 54.6 Kg / 120.1 lb [2*(12.0-10.9)+4*(71.8-
58.7)]
• Ship set weight saving on Embraer 170: 26.6 Kg / 58.5 lb [2*(11.4-10.9)+4*(42.4-36.0)]
Mixing Restrictions:• Embraer does not authorise mixing of radial and bias tires on the same bogie.• Radial tires may be fitted as a pair to one bogie, and bias as a pair, to the other.

• ERJ190: the radial main tire has twicetwice the LPT performance of the bias. This leads to fewer wheel changes and much reduced maintenance costs.
• Actual performance data, over 12 months in 2008, from a major US regional operator supports the above estimates on ERJ190.
