HEATED FRONT SEATS

This feature allows you to heat the frontseatbacks and seat cushionssimultaneously or just the seatbacks.Three heat settings are available. Thecontrols are located on the driver andfront passenger door panels.Select a heat setting for both theseatback and seat cushion• Press and release the horizontal

button (“1” above) until the indicator light shows the desired setting.

Select a heat setting for the seatbackonly• Press and release the vertical button

(“2” left) until the indicator light shows the desired setting.

CLIMATE CONTROL SEATS —PLATINUM EDITIONWith the climate control seats you canchoose to heat or cool your seat. Theseats will only operate either in the heator cool mode; for example, you cannotcool the seat cushion while heating theseatback. To operate the climatecontrolled seats, do the following:• Press the red heat button or the blue

cool button (“1” above).

• Seatback Only: This can only be usedfor the heat feature. Press this button (“2” left) to heat the seatback and cycle through the heat settings of high, medium, low and off. Red indicator lights will glow for each heatsetting chosen: three lights for high, two for medium and one for low. A light in the button will also glow to indicate the seatback heat is on.

• Entire Seat: Press this button (“3” left)to heat or cool the entire seat and cycle through the settings of high, medium, low and off. Red (for heat) or blue (for cool) indicator lights will glow for each setting chosen: three lights for high, two for medium and one for low.

POWER LUMBAR FRONT SEATSAdjust lumbar support• Press the front or rear of the control

located on the side of the seat cushion near the door (“1” below). Release at the preferred setting.

Adjust side bolster support• Press the top or bottom of the lumbar

control (“2” below). Release at the preferred setting.

SECOND ROW SEAT FEATURESOutboard Heated Seat CushionsUse the button located on the back ofthe center console to select one of twoheat settings for the second row seatcushion.

• Press the button once for High; twicefor Low. Press it again to turn off theheat feature.

Recline the second row bucketseatback(s)• Pull up the lever located at the rear

outboard side of the seat cushion. • Release the lever to lock the seatback

where you want it.Return bucket seatback(s) to uprightposition• Pull the seat lever and allow the

seatback to move forward.Fold either side of the second rowbench seatBoth sides of the second row seat canbe folded down for access to the thirdrow seat, or to create additional cargospace. To fold, followthese steps:• Pull up on the

strap at the rear of the seat cushion (“1” right) and pull the cushionforward into an upright position.

• Pull the seatback forward so that itfolds down into a flat position. Thehead restraint will automatically foldflat. On ESV only, lift the lever at thebase of the seat to release thepassenger-side seatback.

Return seat to occupant position• Lift and move the seatback into the

upright position. • Return the cushion to the seating

position until it latches.• Pull up on the seat cushion and

forward on the seatback to ensurethat they are secure. On Escalade,pull head restraints upright. Ensurethat driver-side seat belts are notunder the seat cushions.

Use the second row easy entry/exitfeature (ESV models)

The passenger’s side of the second row60/40 bench seat has an easy entry/exitfeature that makes it easy to get in andout of the third row seat. To operate:

• Lift the black release lever located onthe bottom-back side of the seat.

• Tilt the seatback toward the front of

the vehicle (the seat will release).

• Pull (or push if exiting the third rowwith no assistance) the seat forwarduntil it stops.

Fold second row bucket seats• Pull up on the strap loop located at

the rear of the seat cushion and pullthe seat cushion up and fold itforward.

• Pull the seatback release lever upwardand pull the seatback forward and foldit down until it is flat. (Note: On ESVmodels, you must first remove theheadrest and store it on top of theseat cushion.)

• Pull the headrest out from theseatback and slide the pins into theholes providedon top of theseat cushion.

Create a loadfloor on ESVmodels• Release the

load floor panels from the seatbacks by pushing forward on the latches (“1” above).

• Fold the panels back to cover the rearseat footwell area.

PASSENGER AUTOMATIC LOCKINGRESTRAINT (ALR)The safety belt is designed to lock duringan accident, but it will also lock if it ispulled out all the way during initialbuckling, and you may be unaware thatthis has happened.If the safety belt does lock, unbuckle itand allow it to retract fully; then pull itout and re-buckle the belt.

AUTOMATIC DIMMING REARVIEWMIRROR WITH ONSTAR®, COMPASSAND TEMPERATURE DISPLAY When on, the automatic interiordimming rearview mirror automaticallydims to the proper level to minimizeglare from lights behind you when it’sdark outside.Turn the self-dimming function on oroff• Press and hold this button (“1” right)

for approximately eight seconds.

Use the OnStar® Communicationssystem The OnStar system provides in-vehiclesafety, security, and communicationsservices, available 24 hours a day, 7days a week. These services are easilyaccessed through the three OnStarbuttons in your vehicle.

• Press the white dot button or Phone button (depending on equipment) (“2” above) to access OnStar Personal Calling, a hands-free, voice-activated communications service.*

• Press the blue OnStar button (“3” above) to connect to an OnStar Advisor for services such as GM Goodwrench Remote Diagnostics or routing and location assistance.**

Turn the outside temperature displaysand compass readings on or off• Press button “1” above.

Display temperature• Press this button (“1” left) and hold

for four seconds to toggle between °Cand °F. Once the desired °C or °F is displayed, release the button. Wait four seconds and the temperature willbe displayed.

ADJUSTABLEPEDALSThe buttons used toadjust the pedals arelocated on the driver’sside door panel.• Press the button closest to you to

move the pedals closer to your body.• Press the button farthest from you to

move the pedals away from your body.

The vehicle must be in Park (P) for thisfeature to operate.

POWER FOLDING MIRRORS Fold mirrors• Move this selector switch (“1” right)

located above the mirror control to the center position.

• Press the right side of the four-way control pad (“2” right) to fold the mirrors in.

• Press the left side ofthe four-way controlpad (“3” right) tofold the mirrors out.

If the mirrors havebeen folded manually,they must be movedthrough the powerfolding cycle threetimes to reset them intheir tracks.

Automatic ClimateControlsTRI-ZONE AUTOMATIC CLIMATECONTROL SYSTEM Escalade’s Tri-Zone Automatic ClimateControl System features dual zoneoperation in the front and single zoneoperation for rear seat passengers.

• Press and hold the AUTO button (“1” above) for four seconds.

Select air distribution manually

• Press and release the MODE button (“4” above) until the desired source ofair is indicated on the display.

Manually raise or lower fan speed

• Press the upper or lower portion of the FAN control button (“5” above).

Additional Climate Control SystemFunctions

: Recirculates interior air while in Vent, Bi-Level positions. Use this setting

to get maximum cooling from the airconditioning system. To prevent windowfogging, Recirculation will not operate inthe Defog, Defrost or Floor mode.

: Clears windshield and front sidewindows of fog/frost.

: Clears rear glass of fog/frost andactivates heated outside rearviewmirrors.

: Turns the air conditioning system onand off.

REAR AUTOMATIC CLIMATECONTROL SYSTEMThe rear automatic climate controlsystem works the same way as the dualfront climate control system. Select theAUTO mode and adjust the temperature.The air delivery, fan speed and airrecirculation will automatically beadjusted for the rear passengers.

The front andthe rearpassengers cancontrol theenvironment forthe rear seatpassengers. Thesystem has an overhead control near thedriver (shown below left) and a controlon the back of the center console.

To use the rear seat controls, the driveroverhead control must be in the AUXposition.

SUNROOF (if equipped)The sunroof controls are located in theoverhead console.Close the sunroof• Hold the front portion of the button

(“1” below) down until the sunroof motor stops. The sunroof will tilt up slightly to seal. This is normal.

Note: When the climate control system is inthe OFF position ( ), outside air will continueto enter the vehicle and will be directedaccording to the mode position selected. Thisis normal climate control operation.

HEATED AND COOLED FRONTCUPHOLDERS (Platinum Editiononly)The heated and cooled cupholderswork best when maintaining thetemperature of a beverage that isalready hot or cold. For optimum performance and safety, theprovided beverage holders arerecommended. To use the cup-holders, do the following:• Press the top (red dot) of the

switch (“1” below) to heat the cupholder or press the bottom (blue dot) of the switch to cool thecupholder. Press the same switch again to turn off the cupholder.

Caution: When using the “heat”selection, the beverage containermay become hot to the touch.

AM/FM STEREO WITH CD ANDCASSETTE PLAYERSet the time • Press and hold the HR button

(“1” right) until the correct hour appears on the display.

• Press and hold the MN button (“2” right) until the correct minute appears on the display.

Program radio station presets• Turn the radio on.• Press BAND to select the band

(AM, FM1/FM2/XM1/XM2).• Use the SEEK or TUNE knob to

tune in the desired station.

• Press AUTO EQ to select thedigital signal processing youdesire (this is stored with thestation).

• Press and hold one of the sixnumbered buttons until a beepsounds; release the button.

• Repeat these steps for each stationpreset, using a different numberedbutton for each station.

Note: Use the climate control seats andheated and cooled cupholders only whilethe vehicle is running or the battery willdischarge and the vehicle may not restart.

Access one of the two available XMSatellite Radio bands • Press the BAND button until XM1 or

XM2 appears on the display. Note:Requires subscription to XM Radio.(See your Owner Manual foradditional XM Satellite Radioinformation.)

Quick Load:• Press LOAD (“1” above) for two

flash and accept another CD until all are occupied.

• To exit Quick Load, press either anumber with a CD in it or LOAD.

Quick Unload:• Press EJECT ( ) for two seconds; all

CDs will eject from highest number tolowest.

Load 1 CD• Press LOAD; all available numbers

will flash amber. • Select the number desired.• Wait for amber lights to flash on sides

of slot before inserting CD.• Repeat to load more CDs.Unload 1 CD• Press EJECT.• Press number for CD desired.Play a CD• Option 1: Press the

number for the CDdesired in the six-discCD changer (wait eightseconds).

• Option 2: Press 5/SIDEbutton on radio face toscroll through CDs.

REAR SEAT ENTERTAINMENT (RSE) SYSTEM (if equipped)The DVD player is located in the secondrow overhead console and the systemcomes with two wireless headphones.The DVD player can be controlled by thebuttons on the DVD player and by thebuttons on the remote control.Reference your Owner Manual fordetailed instructions. The DVD playerpower may be turned on when theignition is in RUN, ACCESSORY, or whenRetained Accessory Power (RAP) isactive.The Platinum Edition has a dual screenRear Seat Entertainment (RSE) system.The RSE system includes a DVD player;two video display screens — secondand third row; four wireless headphones;and a remote control. The third rowscreen only displays the sameentertainment selection as the secondrow.

HomeLink® TRANSMITTER Program HomeLinkYour vehicle’s engine should beturned off while programming thetransmitter. Follow these steps toprogram up to three channels:1. Press and hold down the two

outside buttons, releasing only when the indicator light begins to flash, after 20 seconds. Do not hold down the buttons for longer than 30 seconds and do not repeat this step to program a second and/or third transmitter to the remaining two HomeLink buttons.

2. Position the end of your hand-heldtransmitter about 1 to 3 inches (3 to 8 cm) away from the HomeLinkbuttons while keeping the indicator light in view.

3. Simultaneously press and hold both the desired button on HomeLink and the hand-held transmitter button. Do not release

the buttons until Step 4 has been completed.

4. The indicator light will flash slowly at first and then rapidly afterHomeLink successfully receives the frequency signal from the hand-held transmitter. Release both buttons.

5. Press and hold the newly trained HomeLink button and observe the indicator light. If the indicator lightstays on constantly, programming is complete and your device should activate when the HomeLink button is pressed and released.

To program the remaining twoHomeLink buttons, begin with Step 2under “Program HomeLink.”Do not repeat Step 1, as this willerase all of the programmedchannels.

STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS(ONSTAR®/RADIO) • To activate Personal Calling, press

button “1” below. Pressing this button also acts as a “barge in” for voice mail.

CRUISE CONTROLCruise control allows you to maintaina constant speed of 25 mph or morewithout keeping your foot on theaccelerator pedal.

Setting Cruise Control:1. Move the cruise control switch to

on ( ).2. Attain the speed you want to

cruise at.3. Press in the Set button ( )

at the end of the multifunction lever on the left side of the steering column.

4. Take your foot off the accelerator pedal.

5. The cruise symbol on theinstrument cluster will illuminate.

There are two ways to increasespeed while cruising:• Use the accelerator pedal to get

to a higher speed. Press at the end of the multifunction lever to set the cruising speed. Release the accelerator pedal.

• Press the resume/accelerate switch (+) to get to a higher speed, and then release the switch.

To reduce speed while cruising:• Press and hold at the end of

the multifunction lever until you reach the desired lower speed, and then release it.

AUTOMATIC HEADLAMPCONTROLSTurn off Daytime Running Lamps(DRL) and automatic headlamps• Turn the exterior lamps knob

(located to the left of the steering wheel) to OFF (��

)(“1” right). Activate the automatic headlampsystem• Turn the exterior lamps knob

to AUTO. The automatic headlampsystem will turn on the front and rear lamps (“2” right).

Manually illuminate the parkinglamps, taillamps, instrumentpanel/radio lights, license platelamps • Turn the exterior lamps knob to

the parking lamp position ( ) (“3” below).

Manually activate the headlamps,all exterior tail/marker lamps andthe instrument panel/radio lights• Turn the exterior lamps knob

to this position ( ) (“4” below).

Turn the fog lamps on or off• Press the fog lamp button

(“5” above) located on the leftside of the instrument panel. An indicator lamp will illuminatewhen the fog lamps are on.

SYSTEMStabiliTrak helpsyou maintaindirection controlduring mostdrivingconditions. Insome drivingsituations, such as becoming stuckon slippery terrain and vehicle“rocking” is required to free it, it maybe necessary to limit StabiliTrakcontrol. The StabiliTrak limit buttondecreases the amount of TractionControl engagement and disables thelateral and yaw sensors.Limit StabiliTrak®

• Press the StabiliTrak button (shownabove) located on the instrumentpanel.

ULTRASONIC REAR PARKINGASSIST (URPA)This feature helps you determinehow close an object is to your rearbumper. Both a variable audible

chime and a visualdisplay, located onthe passenger’sside rear uppertrim panel, conveydistance to anobject. In somecircumstancessuch as trailering, the system can bedisabled.Disable URPA• Press the URPA on/off button

(“1” above) located near theclimate control system and radio.In some circumstances, such astrailering, the system can bedisabled.

TIRE PRESSURE MONITORThis feature alerts you when a largechange in pressure occurs in one ofyour vehicle’s tires. If this occurs, aCHECK TIRE PRESSURE message willappear in the instrument panelcluster. This message will remain onuntil you reset the system.

Reset the tire pressure monitor• To reset the tire pressure

message, you must fill the tires with the correct amount of air.

• Pressing the cluster stem buttonon your instrument panel clusteror the Reset button on yoursteering wheel will temporarilyeliminate the message. However,at the next vehicle start-up, themessage will reappear. The tirepressure must be corrected topermanently eliminate themessage.

Note: This system identifies a low tirepressure situation.

Note: The Tire Pressure Monitor can alert youabout low tire pressure, but it doesn’t replacenormal tire maintenance.

Note: You may notice during coolerconditions the tire pressure monitor telltaleand message will appear when the vehicle isfirst started and then turns off as you start todrive the vehicle. This could be an earlyindicator that your tire pressures are gettinglow and need to be inflated to the properpressure.

CONTENT THEFT-DETERRENTSYSTEM Arm the System• Lock the doors using the power

door lock switch or the KeylessEntry System transmitter. Thealarm is activated when thesymbol ( ) goes off(approximately 30 seconds).

MEMORY POSITIONS FORDRIVER’S SEAT, OUTSIDEREARVIEW MIRRORS, ANDPOWER ADJUSTABLE PEDALS

• Adjust driver seat,including lumbar adjustmentand side bolster.

• Adjust gas and brake pedals.

• Adjust the outside rearviewmirrors.

• To store the above settings, press and hold Memory 1 or 2 (above) until two chimes sound (about fourseconds). To set up for another driver, repeat the process with theother memory button.

These settings are restored bypressing the Memory 1 or 2 buttonon the driver’s door.

Set Easy Exit Driver Seat Position1. Briefly press memory button

1 or 2.2. Adjust the seat to the desired exit

position.3. Press and hold the exit button

ODOMETER/TRIP SETTINGSPress the TripInformationbutton ( ) to scrollthrough theODOMETER,TRIP A, TRIP B,TIRE PRES-SURES, TIMER and ENGINE HOURSchoices.Your vehicle’s trip odometers A andB operate only when they are turned on. To turn on or off Trip Aand B odometers, press the Selectbutton ( ).Odometer: Press until ODOMETERappears on the display. This modeshows the total distance the vehiclehas been driven in either miles orkilometers. Pressing the reset stemlocated on the instrument clusterwith the vehicle off will also displaythe odometer.Trip A: Press until TRIP A appearson the display. This mode shows thecurrent distance traveled since the

last reset for TRIP A in either miles orkilometers.Trip B: Press until TRIP B appearson the display. This mode shows thecurrent distance traveled since thelast reset for TRIP B in either miles orkilometers.Reset Trip InformationTo reset TRIP A or TRIP B information,press and hold the Select button ( )for one second while in one of thetrip modes. This will reset theinformation for TRIP A or TRIP B.You can also reset TRIP A or TRIP Bwhile they are displayed by pressingthe reset stem on the cluster. If youpress and hold the reset stem orfour seconds, the display will showthe distance traveled since the lastignition cycle for TRIP A or TRIP B.

Tire PressuresPress until TIRE PRESSURESappears on the display. This modeshows the tire pressure in poundsper square inch (psi) or kilopascals(kPa). Press to scroll through thefollowing information:• LF TIRE shows the tire pressure of

the left front tire.• RF TIRE shows the tire pressure for

the right front tire.• LR TIRE shows the tire pressure for

the left rear tire.• RR TIRE shows the tire pressure

for the right rear tire.TimerThe DIC can be used as a timer. Press

while TIMER is displayed to startthe timer. The display will show theamount of time that has passed sincethe timer was last reset, notincluding time the ignition is off.Time will continue to be counted aslong as the ignition is on, even ifanother display is being shown onthe DIC. The timer will record up to

99 hours, 59 minutes and 59seconds (99:59:59) after which thedisplay will roll back to zero.

Access Fuel InformationPress the Fuel Information button ( )to view the following:• RANGE: The remaining distance

you can drive without refueling.(Fuel range cannot be reset.)

• FUEL USED: The amount of fuelconsumed in gallons.

• AVG ECON: How many miles pergallon your vehicle is gettingbased on current and past drivingconditions. To reset AVG ECONand FUEL USED, press and hold

for two seconds while in theFuel Information menu.

• ENGINE OIL LIFE: Displays theremaining percentage of oil lifeavailable in the engine.
