We collected $833.00 last Sunday for Souper

Bowl of Caring. That money will be divided

between Christian Community Ministries and

Kershaw County. Thank you for your support!

“For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. For it is written: ‘As I live,

says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall give praise to God.’

So then, each of us will be accountable to God. Do Not Make Another Stumble Let us

therefore no longer pass judgment on one another, but resolve instead never to put a

stumbling-block or hindrance in the way of another.” Romans 14:10-13

If you have paid attention to my prayers on Sundays you may have heard

me say that everyone will one day stand in front of God to answer for

their actions. We also see above that we are not to judge one another or

cause another to stumble.

This is not an easy command. Responsibility comes with this command. If

I asked you today how have you been doing with this? Me, not always

well. It is a process, to learn about our own actions and reactions to the

‘unexpected’ things that come in our life. We make plans, we make

assumptions, but the world (or people) gets in our way. Time moves on.

We are all accountable to God for ourselves. We cannot change someone

else; only God can do that. We are to pray for others, especially for our

enemies or those we have a hard time getting along with. So in this

coming week I hope you take this verse and ponder upon it; maybe make

changes in your life to come in line with God. This week I shared an

acronym with the confirmation class to help us not cause someone else to

stumble into sin. Maybe it could be helpful to you too.

Before you act…. ‘THINK”:

T = is it true?

H = is it helpful?

I = is it inspiring?

N = is it necessary?

K = is it kind?
