His executive ability brought him the presldencynof the New York State Medical Association. He was also president of Mon- roe County Medical Society and of Genesee Valley Medical Care (Blue Shield). During World War I. Doctor Lane served in the Army from June 1917 to December 1918. In World War II he became a commander in the Navy Medi- cal Corps Reserve and served from 1942 to 1946. He was born in New York City. The family later moved to Auburn where he was gradu- ated from high school. He at- tained his medical degree^ at Georgetown University in 1922 and interned at St. Mary's Hos- pital here. His private practice was begun in July of 1523. He maintained his office at 1351 ML Hope Ave. for years. In addition to other profes- sional affiliatioas^JDoctor-Xanc had a diplomafi of the Arncri can Board of Surgery and was a member of Rochester Acad cmy of Medicine and American Medical Association. ' Surviving are his wife, Jean nette D. Lane; two daughters, Mrs. Forbes R. (Elizabeth) Haidt and Mrs. A. Donald (Jeannette) Dugan; one son, James J. Lane, vice president of Christopher Press Inc.; two brothers, Louis E. and Father James Lane; * his half-sister, Mrs. Fred Cater; ten grandchil- dren and several- nieces and nephews. Doctor Lane, 68, a distin­guished surgeon and Catholic layman died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1965 in his home 4 Allen Park-way Pittsfo:

The Solemn Mass of Requiem was offerered by Rev. James C Lane, his brother, and pastor of St. Agnes Church. Avon assist­ed by Rev. Francis Pegnam, deacon and Rev, Charles Ben nett, subdeacon.

His executive ability brought him the presldencynof the New York State Medical Association. He was also president of Mon­roe County Medical Society and of Genesee Valley Medical Care (Blue Shield).

During World War I. Doctor Lane served in the Army from June 1917 to December 1918. In World War II he became a commander in the Navy Medi­cal Corps Reserve and served from 1942 to 1946.

He was born in New York City. The family later moved to Auburn where he was gradu­ated from high school. He at­tained his medical degree^ at Georgetown University in 1922 and interned at St. Mary's Hos­pital here. His private practice was begun in July of 1523. He maintained his office at 1351 ML Hope Ave. for years.

In addition to other profes­sional affiliatioas^JDoctor-Xanc had a diplomafi of the Arncri can Board of Surgery and was a member of Rochester Acad cmy of Medicine and American Medical Association. '

Surviving are his wife, Jean nette D. Lane; two daughters, Mrs. Forbes R. (Elizabeth) Haidt and Mrs. A. Donald (Jeannette) Dugan; one son, James J. Lane, vice president of Christopher Press Inc.; two brothers, Louis E. and Father James Lane; * his half-sister, Mrs. Fred Cater; ten grandchil­dren and several- nieces and nephews.

Interment was in Holy Sepul­chre Cemetery. Arrangements by John M. Hedges Funeral Home, Empire Blvd.

Cenaele Lists Retreat For Collegians

A Retreat for College stu­dents will be held at the Cen? acle Retreat House, 693 East Avenue, Rochester, the weekend of Dec. 10-12. The retreat will be conducted by Father Thomas F. G a v i n , S.J., of LeMoyne College.

Registration is at 6 p.m. Fri­day evening, followed by supper. There a're eight conferences during the weekend, and ample opportunity to talk with the retreat master or with one of the sisters. The retreat closes about 4:15 p.nu Sunday after­noon.

The annual meeting of thff diocesan Laymen's R e t r e a t League is scheduled to be held' at the Notre Dame Retreat House on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 5. Representatives from almost every parish in the Rochester Diocese will be pres­ent

Son Offers Requiem For foul SiNSisson

Seneca Falls — Solemn Fu­neral Mass for Paul S. Sisson was offered by his son, Rev. William C Sisson, assistant pas­tor, St Monica Church, Roches­ter in St Patrick's Church here, Saturday, Nov. 13.

Mr. Sisson, 65 of 69 Bridge St*, Seneca Falls and widely active in church and civil cir­cles died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1965.

Assisting Father Sisson in the Solemn Requiem Mass were Rev. Gerald Dunn, deacon and Rev. Michael' Murphy, subdea­con. Monsignor Gerald C. Lam­bert was in the sanctuary.

Mr. Sisson, borne in Seneca Falls, was employed by James P." Sullivan, wholesale tobacco company for more than 40 years. He was chairman of Seneca Falls ^ater Board.
