PROVINCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT OFFICE (PACD)

The Public Employment Service Office Program was originally under the Office of the Governor In 1997, however, because of the directive of

Governor Hermilando I. Mandanas in 1999, PESO was transferred to PACD

as one of its units in the Special Project . Under the administration of Governor Vilma S. Recto,

the PESO Unit was upgraded into a Division thru Resolution No. 454 ,Year 2012,

which supports DOLE’s vision of universal institutionalization of PESOs

at the LGU level in the Philippines.

PESO DIVISION

As mandated by RA 8759 (PESO Law of 1999), the PESO Division shall ensure the prompt, timely and efficient delivery of employment service thru proper matching of jobseekers and employers in order to reduce

unemployment in the province.

Its core functions: provision of labor market information, referral and placement,

pre-employment orientation seminar, career coaching and work orientation

It also undertakes special programs such as Local Recruitment Activities (LRAs),

Special Recruitment Activities (SRAs), Job Fair and Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES).

PESO is linked to the regional office of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for coordination and technical supervision and

to the DOLE Central Office to constitute the national employment service network
