PLCRParameterPlateletlargecellratio

PLCR means Platelet large cell ratio and its calculated in automated bloodanalyzers using this formula:

PLCR = PLCC/PLT.PLT = Total Platelets Count.PLCC = platelets larger than 12 fl and smaller than 30fl.Note: fL= femtoliter which is is the metric unit of volume equal to 1015 litres.

Increased percentage of large platelets (PLCR) is observed in patients withHyperlipidaemia and suggest possible risk of thrombosis.

An increase in PLCR + MPV + PDW has been observed in autoimmunethrombocytopenic purpura.

MPV(meanplateletvolume)theaveragevolumeofplatelets(normal10.7PL).

PDWtherelativewidthofthedistributionofplateletsinvolumeindexoftheheterogeneityofplatelets.
