The adjectives have three degrees of comparison: the positive, comparative and the superlative one. Example: Math is as difficult as English. equallity

For the adjectives of a syllable, the comparative one forms adding - er, and the superlative one adding - est.

Example: bright brighter brightestwarm warmer warmest

 If an adjective finishes in - and, it is only added - r to form the comaprativo and - est for the superlative one.

If the adjective only has a syllable, with a single short vowel, and it finishes with a consonant, the last consonant ends before adding - er and - est. Example: big bigger biggest
