DESCRIPTION
Keynote is a very simple application that is versatile and great for visual style presentations. This is the PDF version (because I can't upload the native app file) of a Keynote presentation that explains the new Pacific Cross Health Insurance 'Lifestyle' health insurance range. Just a few hours' work to write and configure the presentation, than add a music bed and export to QuickTime format, and upload to YouTube as a video version. The original Keynote slides are being edited into Thai language and shortly I will repeat the process to get a Thai version of the video up on YouTube and the client's website. In total, maybe 4 hours for me and a couple more for the local translator - the output being a presentation and a video explaining the product - both in English and Thai. No. But delivering this can be done at a cost of maybe $3-400, no more ... and I constantly see people spending several times that amount for finished product that is no better and certainly not worth a price differential. Video production is a quirky thing, and my experience has shown me that there is no linear relationship between the production cost and the quality of the output between the two price points of a few hundred dollars, put together by a pragmatic, seasoned campaigner like me, and somewhere north of $5000 for a brief video, bringing to bear professional skills and equipment. Between these two areas is a graveyard. Invest say $1500 buying the hype and promise from an international talent bank and more than likely you will be bitterly disappointed because there is little chance the budget is sufficient and the talent experienced enough to handle lighting, camera work, props, talent, audio, graphics, and so on to the level that they stop looking amateur. As a rule of thumb for sales/corporate/product videos ... get it done for less than $500 or more than $5000 - anywhere between those two points, keep your wallet in your pocket.TRANSCRIPT
