Welcome the 30th Fog Fest Celebration!

Welcome to the 30th Annual Fog Fest, kicking off Saturday, September 26th at 10am with the “30 Years of Fun in the Fog” Parade along Palmetto Avenue. This year’s parade Grand Marshals are Jean Headley, Ginny Jaquith and Peter Loeb, all Fog Fest pioneers. Honorary Grand Marshals are the Pacifica Resource Center and the Pacifica Senior Services, both celebrating 40 years of service.

The parade will award prizes for Best Float, Best Mini Float, Most Creative Walking Group and Best Music or Dance Group. Sand Sculpture magic will be created by Bill Lewis of Santa Cruz Sand all day Saturday and on display Sunday for all to enjoy. Start Sunday the 27th off with the Parks, Beaches & Recreation’s annual Fog Jog & Stride (for more information, visit http://pacific-coastfogfest.com/activities/contests-2/fog-jog/.com). At 1pm Sunday afternoon join the Family Fun Fest at IBL Middle School for some healthy family fun.

After last year’s successful Fog Fest weekend, $90,000 was donated back to the community groups and organizations who volunteered to keep the Fog Fest running smoothly. Support your coastal community by browsing through over 200 arts and crafts vendors, grabbing a bite to eat from one of the dozens of deli-cious local food and beverage tents, and exploring the kiddie amusement rides, brought to us this year by Classic Amusements. And of course, come enjoy the musical talents of 24 bands performing throughout the weekend on three different stages, while enjoying our signature cocktail the Fog Cutter. As a very special honor, the Super Bowl 50 Host Committee, has chosen the Fog Fest, one of only a few festivals selected, to host and display the two Bay Area’s NFL team trophies. The exhibit will consist of a 6000 square-foot area located near the North Stage at IBL Middle School, both Saturday and Sunday. Grab your friends and family to take keepsake pictures of the five SF 49ers and three Oakland Raiders Super Bowl trophies!

As president, I would like to genuinely thank my fellow volunteer board members and the hundreds of volunteers that help make Fog Fest a successful event year after year.

The Annual Fog Fest is a free family fun event open from 10am to 6pm Sat-urday and Sunday. Come out and enjoy this year’s 30th Celebration.
