(A) For new students admitted in AY2020/2021

NUS will freeze tuition fee increases for Singapore Citizens enrolled in government-subsidised postgraduate programmes in AY2020. This will help mitigate the impact of costs to Singaporean households during these challenging times. Postgraduate tuition fees follow a fee schedule that is set at the year of admission, with pre-planned annual increases over the course duration. With the freeze in tuition fee increases, Singaporean postgraduate students from the AY2020/21 intake will pay the AY2019 fees in their first year of study. The fee schedule for the remaining course duration will be reviewed before the start of AY2021. The freeze in tuition fee increases for AY2020 does not apply to fees payable by Singapore Permanent Resident (PR) and international students (IS).

GOVERNMENT-SUBSIDISED GRADUATE PROGRAMMES Tuition Fees Per Annum (Academic Year 2020/2021)

GDTuition2020(5yrs)

Notes for New Students:

1. All fees quoted here are in Singapore Dollars (S$). Tuition fees are reviewed yearly and thus, subject to revision.

a) The tuition fee schedule for the remaining course duration for graduate coursework and graduate research programmes for Singaporean students admitted in AY2020/2021 intake will be reviewed before the start of AY2021.

b) Tuition fees for graduate coursework and graduate research programmes for Singapore Permanent Resident students (PR) and international students (IS) admitted in AY2020/2021 intake will be increased by 1% and 1.5% per year respectively, for the remaining course duration, capped at the dollar increase in AY2020.

c) With effect from AY2019/2020, graduate coursework students who exceeded their normal candidature will have to pay full, non-subsidised fees (i.e. fees for students not in receipt of MOE subsidy), during their extended semesters.

(Note: Refer to this link for residency requirement, normal and maximum candidature)

d) Tuition fees for Master of Architecture students admitted in AY2020/2021 will be increased by $50 per annum for Singapore Citizens/Singapore Permanent Residents and $100 per annum for International Student respectively, for the remaining course duration.

2. For students who are Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents, the tuition fees quoted here are

subsidised by the Singapore government (through the Ministry of Education, MOE) and are exclusive of prevailing GST. The applicable GST for these students is subsidised by MOE. With effect from AY2018/2019, newly admitted Singapore Permanent Residents from Double Degree Programme comprising an MBA from Renmin University of China (RUC) and Master of Science in Real Estate (MRE) from NUS are not eligible for MOE subsidy.

3. The prevailing GST (currently 7%) on the fees payable will be borne by International Students. The tuition fees quoted here are inclusive of the prevailing GST.

4. Students who are not in receipt of MOE Subsidy will have to pay the non-subsidised fee amounts as quoted here (which are inclusive of the prevailing GST).

5. Students who have previously enjoyed government subsidy or sponsorship by a Singapore government agency (such as scholarships offered by the Ministries, Public Service Commission and Statutory Boards) in a graduate programme should refer to the Eligibility Guidelines for MOE Subsidy. Students who are not eligible for MOE subsidy are also not eligible for most scholarships. For more details, please refer to Scholarships/Awards

6. SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy: Students who are Singapore Citizens, aged 40 and above (based on the year which the student turns 40 years old) and enrolled in MOE-subsidised coursework programmes may be eligible for higher subsidy under the SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy. The fees payable will be 60% lower than the standard subsidised fees payable by other Singaporean students. The amount of fees payable will be reflected in their individual student bill. Students who are not eligible for MOE subsidy are also not eligible for the SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy.

7. Service Obligation Scheme: The University may deem it feasible, based on industry demand, to implement a Service Obligation (in some MOE-subsidised programmes) for International Students. International Students who are eligible and have signed the Service Obligation Agreement will pay reduced tuition fees. The amount of fees payable and MOE Subsidy under Service Obligation will be reflected in their individual student bill. The determination of this feasibility is at the sole discretion of the University. a) With effect from AY2017/2018, International Students who are on MOE-funded scholarships that come with

Graduate Assistantship Programme (GAP) requirements - NUS Graduate School for Integrative Sciences & Engineering Scholarship (NGSS), President's Graduate Fellowship (PGF), NUS Research Scholarship (RS), Tuition Fee Allowance (TFA) and Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) are not eligible to sign for the Service Obligation.

b) With effect from AY2018/2019, newly admitted International Students enrolling into the Double Degree Programme

comprising an MBA from Renmin University of China (RUC) and Master of Science in Real Estate (MRE) are not eligible for MOE subsidy, hence, they are not eligible to sign Service Obligation Scheme.

c) Students, who are required to pay Liquidated Damages (LD) to MOE for breaking the bond, would have to pay the total amount of MOE Subsidy under Service Obligation (reflected in their individual student bill) plus 10% interest rate compounded at the end of each academic year.

8. Fees for programmes in the following institutions may be found on their respective websites: Lee Kuan Yew School of

Public Policy; Duke-NUS Medical School; Institute of Systems Science and Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health.

9. Special Term: Fees are chargeable for students on coursework programmes reading modules in Special Term.

a) Full-time and part-time students admitted from AY2019/2020 are charged on a per Modular Credit (MC) basis based

on the respective full-time student rates, for modules they read during the Special Term. The fee calculation is based on a full-time student taking a maximum load of 20-24 MCs in a regular semester or 40-48 MCs per annum as per their programme requirement. Fees for full-time and part-time students are the same for the modules read in Special Term. The table below shows an example of per MC and 4-MC module fees payable by Engineering (Coursework) students who read the full programme requirement of 40 MCs in AY 2019/2020.

(B) For existing students admitted in AY2019/2020

NUS will freeze tuition fee increases for Singapore Citizens enrolled in government-subsidised postgraduate programmes in AY2020. This will help mitigate the impact of costs to Singaporean households during these challenging times. Postgraduate tuition fees follow a fee schedule that is set at the year of admission, with pre-planned annual increases over the course duration. For Singaporean postgraduate students from the AY2019/20 intake or earlier, the pre-planned fee increases for AY2020 will be deferred, and they will pay the AY2019 fees in AY2020. GDTuition2020(5yrs)

Notes for Existing Students: 1. All fees quoted here are in Singapore Dollars (S$). Tuition fees are reviewed yearly and thus, subject to revision.

a) The tuition fee schedule for the remaining course duration for graduate coursework and graduate research programmes

for Singaporean students admitted in AY2019/2020 or before will be reviewed before the start of AY2021.

b) Tuition fees for graduate coursework and graduate research programmes for Singapore Permanent Resident (PR) students and international students (IS) admitted in AY2019/2020, AY2018/2019 and AY2017/2018 intakes will be increased by 1% and 1.5% per year respectively, for the remaining course duration.

c) Tuition fees for graduate coursework and graduate research programmes for PR and IS admitted in AY2016/2017

intake will be increased by 1% and 2% per year respectively, for the remaining course duration. d) Tuition fees for existing graduate PR and IS prior to AY2016/2017 intakes will continue to be increased by 3% annually

for the remaining course duration.

e) With effect from AY2019/2020, graduate coursework students who exceeded their normal candidature will have to pay full, non-subsidised fees (i.e. fees for students not in receipt of MOE subsidy), during their extended semesters. Students who are admitted prior to AY2019/2020 and take longer than the maximum candidature period will have to pay full, non-subsidised fees during their extended semesters.

(Note: Refer to this link for residency requirement, normal and maximum candidature)

2. For students who are Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents, the tuition fees quoted here are subsidised

by the Singapore government (through the Ministry of Education, MOE) and are exclusive of prevailing GST. The applicable GST for these students is subsidised by MOE.

a) Up to AY2014/2015 intake, tuition fees for International Students are MOE-subsidised. With effect from AY2015/2016

intake, only the tuition fees for International Students in the Master of Architecture programme remain MOE-subsidised. b) Up to AY2015/2016 intake, the applicable GST for International Students with Service Obligation/Graduate

Assistantship Programme are also subsidised by the MOE. With effect from AY2015/2016 intake, MOE will no longer subsidise the GST for International Students without Service Obligation/Graduate Assistantship Programme. The prevailing GST (currently 7%) will be levied on the fees payable for International Students. The amount quoted here are inclusive of the prevailing GST.

c) With effect from AY2016/2017 intake, the prevailing GST (currently 7%) on the fees payable will be borne by

International Students. The tuition fees quoted here are inclusive of the prevailing GST.

3. Students who are not in receipt of MOE Subsidy will have to pay the non-subsidised fee amounts as quoted here (which are inclusive of the prevailing GST).

4. Students who have previously enjoyed government subsidy or sponsorship by a Singapore government agency (such as

scholarships offered by the Ministries, Public Service Commission and Statutory Boards) in a graduate programme should refer to the Eligibility Guidelines for MOE Subsidy. Students who are not eligible for MOE subsidy are also not eligible for most scholarships. For more details, please refer to Scholarships/Awards.

5. SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy:

Students who are Singapore Citizens, aged 40 and above (based on the year which the student turns 40 years old) and enrolled in MOE-subsidised coursework programmes may be eligible for higher subsidy under the SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy.

6. Service Obligation Scheme:

The University may deem it feasible, based on industry demand, to implement a Service Obligation (in some MOE-subsidised programmes) for International Students. International Students who are eligible and have signed the Service Obligation Agreement will pay reduced tuition fees. The amount of fees payable and MOE Subsidy under Service Obligation will be reflected in their individual student bill. The determination of this feasibility is at the sole discretion of the University.

a) With effect from AY2017/18, International Students who are on MOE-funded scholarships that come with Graduate

Assistantship Programme (GAP) requirements - NUS Graduate School for Integrative Sciences & Engineering Scholarship (NGSS), President's Graduate Fellowship (PGF), NUS Research Scholarship (RS), Tuition Fee Allowance (TFA) and Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) are not eligible to sign for the Service Obligation.

b) Students, who are required to pay Liquidated Damages (LD) to MOE for breaking the bond, would have to pay the total amount of MOE Subsidy under Service Obligation (reflected in their individual student bill) plus 10% interest rate compounded at the end of each academic year.

7. The published version of the Fee Table:

(i) does not include non-subsidised fee amount for AY2014/2015 and earlier intakes; and (ii) only reflects fees for the latest five cohorts of students.

8. Fees for programmes in the following institutions may be found on their respective websites: Lee Kuan Yew School of

Public Policy; Duke-NUS Medical School; Institute of Systems Science and Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health. 9. Special Term:

Fees are chargeable for students on coursework programmes reading modules in Special Term.

a) Full-time and part-time students admitted from AY2019/2020 are charged on a per Modular Credit (MC) basis based on the respective full-time student rates, for modules they read during the Special Term.

Per 4-MC Module Fee

$237.50*4 = $950.00

$378.75*4 = $1,515.00

$576.25*4 = $2,305.00

$923.75*4 = $3,695.00

For more information on the special term fees payable, please approach faculty/school administrators.

b) Full-time and part-time students from intakes earlier than AY2019/2020 will pay 25% of the fees payable for a regular semester for the modules read during the Special Term. Fees for full-time and part-time students are the same for the modules read in Special Term.

c) Students taking modules from self-funded programmes will pay the fees per module as specified by the programmes.

10. Master of Architecture SPR/IS students from NUS Concurrent Degree Programme (CDP) will enjoy the MOE subsidy based on the admission year of their Bachelor of Architecture programme and commencement of Master of Architecture programme.

NUS Bachelor of Architecture and SUTD Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Sustainable Design (BSc ASD) students admitted in:
