BOTH footballers and netballers are training hard at the moment as the Euroa Football Netball Club (EFNC) continues to pursue excel-lence both on and off the playing surface.

Club leaders Craig Bamford and Kelly Hill have once again put together outstanding programs to develop player fi tness base and with the assistance of the coaching panels these programs are being implemented with due diligence.

Those players turning up to training (25-30 each session) in Eu-roa on Mondays and Wednesdays and in Melbourne on Tuesdays and Thursdays, are already show-ing signs of benefi ting from this intense work.

Senior coaches Nathan Gilliland (football) and Jenny Barlow (net-ball), along with their coaching staff, have been working tirelessly in the retention and recruitment of playing members of the club.

The amount of work going on behind the scenes is only privy to a few but rest assured this volume of work is enormous in its determi-nation, diligence and commitment to the club.

Both Nathan and Jenny ought to be congratulated, along with their support staff, for their efforts to date.

Reminding ourselves of the massive challenge that lies before our club due to the size of Euroa and the standard of competition we compete in is something all club members, supporters and sponsors ought to note.

Maintenance of positive intent

PRE-SEASON HEATS UP: Euroa Magpies stalwart Craig Bamford is a club leader next season, putting the Melbourne-based footballers through their paces each week. PHOTO: Georgie Cardillo

Training steams its way into summerPlayer fi tness base on the improve in pre-season

and trust in those with positions of responsibility is paramount.

The EFNC committee meets on Monday (December 8) at 7.30pm at the Euroa Secondary College boardroom.

Any club member or supporter who wishes to attend here are most welcome.

Having input in this forum is far more constructive than any other.

To this end the club would like to invite any persons who wish to join the committee to contact Scott Watson via email on Watson.

[email protected] club would also like to

announce that there will be a Christmas training session at Eu-roa Memorial Oval followed by a family barbecue on the weekend of December 20/21 with the date to be confi rmed (look for confi rmation in the club article in next week’s Gazette).

The club will hold a training session from 10am followed by a barbecue from noon – all are wel-come to attend and see out what has been a very fruitful 2014.
