Music News
Congratulations to all our amazing musicians who have recently completed their AMEB music exams. Reece C completed her Grade 1 Viola exam and received an A+ (High Distinction). Sophie K completed her O b o e e x a m a n d r e c e i v e d a B+ for her Grade 4. Please let me know all of your amazing talents. Writing about talented students, we had 3 amazing students to start us off last Wednesday on the stage at the hall for Kuluin’s Got Talent 2013. Thank you to the numerous students who have nominated to be part of this year’s Talent Quest. Heats are being held during first break Wednesday and Thursday second break. Senior and Junior choir are rehearsing for Music by Moonlight. Children involved in the Instrumental Program and choirs have been given a note regarding the event on Wednesday 20 November. Finally, Kuluin was part of 600 000 children who sang on Thursday nationwide the song, “KEEP ON”. A huge thank you to Mr Grummitt who managed to set up the live link to Melbourne to see what was happening around Australia. The children all enjoyed singing the song and feeling part of belonging to such a wide community.
Music quote:
"I think music in itself is
healing.
It's an explosive expression
of humanity.
It's something we are all
touched by.
No matter what culture we're
from,
everyone loves music."

Volunteers Still Needed Please
Christmas to Remember
Last year a group of parents/community members put on "A Christmas to Remember". This event saw 65 isolated and needy people joining us for Xmas lunch with all the trimmings including Santa thanks to the many kind donations of money, food, gifts and time from the local community. This year, we are hoping to distribute "Get Ready for Christmas" hampers to needy families in early December. We are seeking donations of non-perishable food items, plastic laundry baskets, (to put everything in) cellephane, toiletries and pretty much anything else that can brighten a person’s Christmas. We are not a charity or an organisation. Just a few ordinary parents wanting to make a difference. People to receive hampers will be identified through our work in the welfare sector and through school Chaplins with S c r i p t u r e U n i o n being one of our major supporters. If anyone would like to donate they can contact myself, Linda on 0407587088 or leave any items in the volunteer room in the designated box for us to collect. Many thanks, Linda Small
Disco Access Both back gates will be closed. Families will need to access the Disco from the front entrance.
