I am requesting funding for the James River Deepwater Turning Basin. The entity toreceive funding for this project is the Port of Richmond, Virginia located at 5000

Deepwater Terminal Rd., Richmond, VA 23234. The funding will be used by the Corps

to dredge various shoals in order to maintain unrestricted deep draft commercial

navigation in a dredging project that covers approximately 90 miles from HamptonRoads, VA to Richmond, VA. This project will be maintained annually at different

locations. In fact, higher than normal shoaling in this channel recently forced theVirginia Pilots Association to impose a draft restriction on vessels transiting these waters.

I am requesting funding for the Willoughby Spit and Vicinity, City of Norfolk, VA. Theentity to receive funding for this project is the City of Norfolk, 810 Union Street, Suite

401, Norfolk, VA 23510. This is an Army Corps of Engineer project and funding will be

used for hurricane and storm damage reduction. This will be the fourth year request for

the General Reevaluation Report (GRR), which reaffirms federal interest in a hurricaneand storm damage reduction project along Norfolk's Chesapeake Bay shoreline. The

study will identify a cost-effective source of sand to provide for periodic renourishmentand mitigate sand loss to a federal channel. I certify that I have no financial interest in

I am requesting funding for the Buckroe Beach project. The entity to receive funding forthis project is the City of Hampton, Virginia, located at 22 Lincoln Street, 8th Floor,

Hampton, Virginia 23669.This project fronts on the western side of the Chesapeake Bayand is entirely within the City of Hampton, Virginia. The purpose of the project is

hurricane and storm damage reduction, and provides for a 3,875-foot-long beach with a50-foot berm width in the Buckroe Beach area. Initial construction was completed in

March 2005, and this is the first renourishment. I certify that I have no financial interestin this project.
