DustGuard - Description Progressive Density Panel

DustGuard Panels are designed for Cross Draft andDowndraft Booths when higher quality paint is used. Inaddition, it can be installed in low pressure HVACsystems where a higher level of filtration is requiredover an AMSP-2 filter. The use of linked panels in sideaccess systems facilitates the change out of the filters.

Construction

The DustGuard Filter is constructed of two syntheticmedia layers. The first layer of white polyester acts as aprefilter. The second stage is a dual density synthetic media withan added adhesive. The DustGuard is non-toxic and non-allergenic. The adhesive prevents the migration of thedust particles and increases its dust holding capacity.

Construction

Advantages

Medium and high efficiency pocket filters offer the best filtration for the cost. Individual pockets are assembled into a sturdy galvanized header proving rigid support for the filter. The filter element is a fully synthetic fiber, neither shedding nor affected by humidity. A wide range of sizes are available. Efficiency levels: from 40% to 95%.

Media The synthetic filtering element consists of layered and blended polypropylene melt blown fibers attached to a dense polypropylene backing. Header A ¾” header of 24 ga. galvanized steel provides the strength of the assembled filter. Pockets The opening of the individual pockets is controlled using a span stitch overlaid with a thermoplastic sealant to ensure the integrity of the pocket. Each pocket is assembled and sealed individually into the metal header. The filter is tested in accordance with the ASHRAE 52.2 fractional efficiency test method. The suggested temperature limit is 200°F. ULC Class 2.

» High dust holding capacity. » Choice of different pocket configurations and lengths depending on the air

volumes. » The pocket filters have a relatively low pressure drop and pockets can be added

to provide additional surface area to reduce the pressure drop or resistance. » The pocket filter is shipped with a retaining strap to facilitate installation.

Description

The MAXI AIR pleated air filter uses a fully synthetic media with anASHRAE 52.2 rating of MERV 8. The synthetic polypropylene media is bonded to a metal backing giving itsaerodynamic form. The media pack is enclosed and bonded at all pointsinto a heavy duty, moisture resistant, beverage board frame. The MAXI AIR filter is a very popular choice for roof top and stand aloneunits and is an ideal upgrade from panel filters that tend to face load. These filters are ideal as prefilters to increase the life of a higher efficient final filter. The pleated configuration allows filtration of particles from 3 to 10 microns such as medium airborne pollutants.

It is this initial outer layer that allows the entire depth of the media to hold paint particulate andnot “surface load” like many overspray collectors. The media is solid yellow and has white backing on the downstream side. Fiberglass media is ideal for shipping, the media has 100% memory when compressed, therefore the rolls are tightlywound and when unrolled to use in your booth, the filter regains its 2½” loft. MSA-22 fiberglass media comes in roll form of 300 foot lengths and various widths to accommodate most paintbooths. If your downdraft booth uses a pit, measure the width of the pit to find the appropriate roll, or check our booth guide. To change the media, simply unwind the roll to the proper length and cut.

The paint laden airflow in transit through the filter is repeatedly subjected to several radical changes of direction. Particles by their mass are then ejected out of the air flow during changes of direction.
