Over this past year, I've been amazed at a lot of things about the support Iran has been receiving in a variety of ways ; good and bad. It's unbelievable how we have approximately 70,000 Iranians living in Vancouver, but only a very small percentage of that large number comes to support their own country. I'm not here to offend anyone or force anyone to do anything but its quite hilarious when they say they have lives or its a waste of time or dargir-im but they are actually spotted tanning at Ambleside, smoking hooka on the beach, strolling around the village with their frappuccino or lattes gossiping about what some women wore the night before at some party; snooping into everyone's personal lives, or driving around in their high-end cars and wasting their time with West-Van alafi ... This goes out to any age, any Iranian or any human being who cares about their country and people around the world. You may say you care but caring would mean physically coming out to support your own country's struggle for freedom, not only verbally saying you care. Think of all the dear family and friends who are living in that country where they have none of the opportunities you experience here. Picture all the people who are dying there, not dying as in only killed but even living there is dying for them compared to all the freedom we have here. Just because we

don't live in Iran doesn't mean we should ignore what's going on and move on with our lovely lives. The 70 million people living there are human beings as well and they are from the same country as you and me, your parents and where your family are from. You can at least come out one day out of the 365 days of the year or even an hour and it would make a significant difference. You call yourself Iranians only when its beneficial or when Iran is all ba-haal and when you're having a blast on your trip there and saying PERISAN PRIDE FOR LIFE . You should own where you're from all the time, not only under some circumstances. Once again I know that everyone is busy with their own issues and lives; I'm one of those people as well but I still make time and I'm not forcing anyone or bragging about anything. Even though I was born and raised here, I haven't missed one single opportunity to support them because I care and want them to be safe, and to have the same rights that any human being deserves to have. I have been going to every single event and will continue to go to any event hosted by any group that is supporting human rights and freedom for Iran. I don't want to be a bystander. I know that I can make a difference.I personally thank everyone who has and will support freedom for Iran.

Canada says ready to implement more Iran sanctions

(AFP) Canada is prepared to implement more sanctions against Iran to curb its nuclear ambitions, Foreign Minister Lawrence Cannon said

Tuesday.Canada has implemented all decisions of the (UN) Security Council to date, Cannon told a press conference. These sanctions are designed to restrict Irans nuclear program, and they send a clear message to the Iranian regime that international standards cannot be flouted without consequences, he said. But in the absence of a positive response from Iran, Canada stands ready to implement additional sanctions to address Irans egregious violations and

    Khamenei brands Iran sanctions as

    confused act

(AFP) Irans supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Wednesday branded new sanctions slapped on Tehran as confused acts which showed the helplessness of world powers in dealing with the Islamic republic.Khameneis remarks, which state television said were delivered to a gathering of university teachers, marked the all-powerful leaders first reaction to the new UN punitive measures imposed on Tehran on June 9.Their confused acts to adopt the resolution and the unrealistic exaggeration of sanctions followed by half-baked military threats are indications of the helplessness of the arrogant order in facing the great and respectable movement in the Islamic world, Khamenei said.Steps such as sanctions, he said, were adopted as the emergence and the existence of the Islamic republic establishment is the main cause of current problems for the domineering order (world powers led by US).That is the reason for their animosity to the Islamic system. The UN Security Council imposed a fourth set of sanctions on Iran for refusing to suspend its uranium enrichment programme which world powers suspect is masking a weapons drive.Iran says the programme is purely for peaceful purposes.

The 8 Things You Need to Know:

    1. Dont Try to Tough It OutSee your family doctor immediately after your car accident. If you cant get in to see your doctor right away go to a walk-in clinic. Let the doctor know about all your accident-related injuries, not just those that are bothering you the most. Be 100 percent open with your doctor about how the accident occurred and about any past accidents or medical conditions that may affect your injuries. Continue to see your family doctor as long as you suffer from injuries caused by your accident. When you stop seeing your doctor you are effectively placing an end date on the injuries caused by your accident.

    2. Dont Play DoctorFollow your doctors instructions concerning medication, types of treatment, and when/if you should return to work. If for some reason you find that your doctors advice isnt working out, talk to your doctor before you do anything. Failure to follow a doctors advice, which may have potentially assisted you, could affect your settlement or court award.

    3. Keep a Daily DiaryWrite down the details concerning how you feel, what day-to-day activities you have problems doing and any other effects that your injuries are having on your ability to enjoy life. Keep a record of your doctor and therapy appointments, medications taken and your inability to work. You may not remember these types of things later and a lawsuit can often take a few years.

    4. Be 100% Straight With Your LawyerDont forget to tell your lawyer about past accidents or injuries. ICBC usually finds out aboutthese types of things. In order for your lawyer to do a top quality job representing you he/she needs to know the whole story. The worst thing you can do is allow your lawyer to prepare your case without all the facts concerning your medical history. A case based

on an inaccurate understanding of your medical history is like a house built on a shaky foundation - more likely than not itll come tumbling down.

    5. Never, Ever LieNot to your lawyer, medical professionals or ICBC about your ability or inability to do physical activity after an accident. Whether it has to do with sports, socializing or work, the truth usually comes out. And when it does it may cause everything you say or do to be questioned.

    6. Be Careful with CantIn real life there are few cants following a car accident. Generally speaking, the majority of people whove been in a car accident recover the ability to perform most activities, unless theyre bedridden. And usually, if they have limitations, its because they cant do certain activities for as long, as hard, or as efficiently as they used to. If these limitations are presentedcorrectly you have a valid claim. If they are presented as cants it may lead to seriousproblems with your case.

    7. Prepare for the Long HaulIf youre injured in a car accident and cant work for a period of time, financial pressures can mount. Its important to prepare for these financial issues well in advance. You should do everything necessary to cut your living expenses to the bone before finances become aproblem. Returning to work, in some form, as soon as medically possible, is also a good way to limit financial problems. It isnt necessary for you to be fully recovered from your injuries before you return to work.

    8. Be a Try GuyIts been said that Perception is Reality. This statement is especially true when it comes to ICBC injury claims. You should be in a position to say that you tried to perform most of the physical activities that you would normally do on a day-to-day basis. What Are The 8 Things You Need to Know About Pursuing an ICBC Injury Claim?

STATEMENT BY THE PRIME MINISTER OF CANADADate: June 22, 2010For immediate release Prime Minister Stephen Harper issued the following statement today announcing that Canada is now fully implementing its obligations under United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolution 1929, which imposes further sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran:The Iranian regime continues to violate its international obligations by ignoring successive UNSC resolutions to suspend its enrichment-related activities and refusing to cooperate fully with the International Atomic Energy

Agency. Our Government therefore welcomed UNSC Resolution 1929 on June 9, 2010. Today, we have fulfilled our obligations by establishing the necessary regulations to implement the decisions in UNSC Resolution 1929, and have amended our existing regulations to include these latest sanctions. These include measures that further limit Irans access to uranium, nuclear materials and technology both directly and through third parties, such as key members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. These sanctions are designed to restrict Irans nuclear program and are in no way

intended to punish the Iranian people.Instead, these targeted measures are meant to send a strong signal to Iran that the international community expects Iran to meet its international nuclear obligations. They send a message to all states particularly those with nuclear aspirations that international standards cannot be flouted without consequences.Canada strongly urges Iran to agree to a constructive dialogue with China, France, Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States in order to reach a diplomatic solution as soon as possible.

Canada will continue to use its G-8 Presidency to maintain international focus on Irans nuclear program, and we stand ready to implement additional sanctions, as necessary, to promote regional and international peace and security.

continued threat of global peace and security, he added.Earlier this month, the United Nations Security Council slapped its fourth set of sanctions on Iran over suspicions that it is seeking to develop nuclear weapons.Tehran insists that its nuclear programme is purely for civil energy uses. The new UN measures authorize states to conduct high-seas inspections of vessels believed to be ferrying banned items to Iran and add 40 entities to a list of people and groups subject to travel restrictions and financial sanctions.Several of Canadas allies, including the United States, have gone further. The Obama administration last week added Iranian individuals and firms to a blacklist as part of US and European efforts to tighten the screws on Iran. The new US sanctions target insurance companies, oil firms and shipping lines linked to Irans nuclear or missile programmes as well as the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) and Irans defense minister Ahmad Vahidi.Cannon called on Iran to fully cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency, foremost by suspending its enrichment activities. As well, he said the Iranian regime must return to negotiations with China, France, Germany, Russia, Britain and the United States with a view to reaching a diplomatic solution as soon as possible.Cannon said Canada would continue to use its G8 presidency to maintain international focus on Irans nuclear program.Iran was a key issue of discussion when I meet with my G8 counterparts in March, he said, and it will certainly be a key issue of discussion when leaders meet in Muskoka this week.If Iran continues to defy its UN obligations, it could undermine security in the Middle East and around the world, Cannon warned.Canada is hosting back-to-back G8 and G20 summits in its Muskoka region and in Toronto, respectively, from June 25-27.

AP Irans nuclear chief said Wednesday his country has produced 17 kilograms of uranium enriched to 20 percent, defying U.N. demands to halt the controversial program. The 20 percent level, needed to produce fuel for a medical research reactor, is far below the more than 90 percent required to build a nuclear weapon, but U.S. officials have expressed concern Iran may be moving closer to the ability to reach weapons-grade level. The United States and its allies accuse Iran of seeking to acquire atomic weapons. Tehran denies the charge, saying its nuclear program is geared toward generating electricity.Iran has been producing the 20 percent enriched material since February. The new figure of 17 kilograms about 37 pounds was announced by Vice President Ali Akbar Salehi, who heads Irans nuclear program.Potentially, we can produce 5 kilograms (11 pounds) a month but we are not in a hurry over this, Salehi said, according to the semiofficial ISNA news agency. The U.N. Security Council approved a resolution two weeks ago strengthening sanctions on Iran over its disputed nuclear program and calling on individual countries and blocs of nations to expand their own sanctions

regimes on Iranian individuals and organizations. The European Union followed with new sanctions, and last week the U.S. Treasury Department said it would restrict economic contacts with some three dozen additional individuals and companies alleged to be helping Iran develop its nuclear and missile programs and evade international penalties.Iran is producing the further enriched material from its stocks of low enriched uranium, which at 3.5 percent purity is the level needed to fuel an electricity-generating reactor.Iran says it needs the 20 percent enriched uranium to produce fuel rods to power a research reactor that produces isotopes for treating cancer and other medical material. Salehi said Iran possesses the technology needed to produce the fuel rods and the first should be ready sometime next spring. He said Iran plans to build four new reactors for atomic medical research around the country, saying the reactors will be for radioactive isotopes for medical needs of patients in Iran and abroad. The United Nations has demanded Iran halt all enrichment activities, but Iran says it has a right to the program to fuel a peaceful nuclear program.
