From October 11-13, 2017, GMCAC Security Department and Business Profiles Inc. conducted the Airport Security Awareness training for key airport stakeholders. The three-day training, held at Waterfront Airport Hotel & Casino Mactan, aims to equip key stakeholders with the basic knowledge and understanding on the complex security needs and requirements of the airport.
The training involved a series of classroom discussion, interactive question and answer-type discourse, and group workshops on crisis and incident management, security threats and terrorism, emergency response and evacuation plan, etc.
A fun run for airport stakeholders was held on October 18 as part of MCIA’s celebration in honor of its patron saint, Sto. Nino (Child Jesus). The event culminated with a mass, lunch, and games for all airport stakeholders on October 20.
GMCAC employees learned more about airport operations through a seminar last September 27. Head of Airport Operations Control Center (AOCC) Mr. Sam Elle and Head of Apron Management Unit Mr. Mervin Morales were the main speakers.
Last October 18, GMCAC hosted the general membership meeting of the Korean Travel Agents Association (KOTAA) at the airport. GMCAC Chief Executive Adviser Mr. Andrew Harrison presented the features of Terminal 2 and MCIA expansion plans. He also answered questions in the open forum that followed.
