A. Chair Report – None

B. Trustee Committee Reports

1. Trustee Miedema, the DBOT representative on the Foundation Board of Directors and Executive Committee Report, updated the Board on the recent hire of Danielle Sylvester as Director of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving. She shared the date for the upcoming Foundation Board Retreat, scheduled for Friday, August 17, 2018 and advised of new scholarship award process. Scholarship awards total $2.6 million.

C. President's Report

1. College-Wide Security Update – President Parker reported the selection of a consultant to provide a security analysis of the College at an estimated cost of approximately $10,000 to be completed by October or November of this year.

2. President Parker updated the Board on the following:

• Staffing changes due to retirement and the pending searches to fill the positions as well as the restructure of some current roles;

• The status of renovations to the Veteran’s Center, Enrollment Center and Chemistry Labs;

• The College’s commitment to scholarships in the Glades region for students that have graduated with a certificate of completion and are interested in enrolling in PSAV programs; and

• The College’s recent meeting with Florida Atlantic University (FAU) to discuss enhancing the current Link Partnership.

3. President Parker presented to the Board her proposed 2018-2019 goals and will bring them for Board approval at the September 18, 2018 meeting. A copy of the report is attached hereto and made a part hereof.

3. Proposed Revision of Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT) CCC 6542, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Routing and Switching CCC 6135, and Programming CCC 6137 Programs – Dr. Roger Yohe presented the proposed revisions to align with new the Department of Education framework.

11. ANNOUNCEMENTS A. The college resumed its normal, five-day work schedule on Monday, August 13, 2018.

B. The next regular District Board of Trustees Meeting will be held on September 18, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. in the Multi-Media Board Room at the Lake Worth Campus of Palm Beach State College.

C. The schedule for the four (4) sessions during the 2018 Fall Term are as follows:

• Session 1 (Full Term – 16 weeks): Commences August 23, 2018 and concludes on December 23, 2018.

• Session 2 (Express A – 8 weeks): Commences August 23, 2018 and concludes on October 18, 2018.

• Session 3 (12 weeks): Commences September 17, 2018 and concludes on December 18, 2018.
