First Kids Preschool Scholastic Book Fair

TODAY Only! First Kids Preschool is hosting a Scholastic Book Fair today between and after services. The Book Fair is set up in the Gathering room of the main church building. Funds raised will help purchase books for the reading center, science center, and resource center. Everyone is invited to attend this event that helps inspire children to become lifelong readers.

Book Fair customers may help the preschool build classroom libraries by donating to the One for Books® program, where loose change can be donated to purchase books from the Book Fair for First Kids Preschool.

Please be ready to browse through the many books that will be available for purchase on this date. Books make great Easter gifts and are handy to have for those long car rides over spring break and summer vacation. Please attend and help promote literacy in young children and help First Kids Preschool.

Haverfields Need Some Help Bobbi, Zac & Josh are coming to Troy to do some work on their house to get it ready to sell. They need help with yard work this Wed & Thurs. If you can help, sign up in the Gathering. Thanks!

TFY Update! TFY we need your help! THIS Sat, Mar 30, we will be helping lead games for the EGGstravaganza at Herrlinger Park. On Easter Sunday at 7:19am, we will also be leading worship for the SONrise service at First Place. We need youth to help on both of these days! Pizza with the Pastor On Sun, Apr 7, following the 10:45am services, we will host “Pizza with the Pastor” at First Place. This will be time where everyone can get to know Pastor Bob and the rest of the Lybarger family, Janet, Becca & Robby. Omar and Chicky will be joining us also. Everyone is welcome!

Spring Rummage Sale The United Methodist Women will again host it's Spring Rummage Sale on Fri, Apr 12, 9am-4pm and Sat, Apr 13, 9am-12 noon. The sale will set up on Tues, Apr 9 and donations will be accepted Tues, Wedn and Thurs from 9am-3pm. All "gently used" clothing and household items, toys etc., are welcome. Keep checking those storage areas for those items you no longer need or use. Workers are always needed. Come and enjoy the fellowship with us over coffee or tea. Higher Education Assistance Grant Applications

Available Beginning April 1 Applications for higher education assistance grants from Troy First United Methodist Church for the 2013-14 academic year will be available in the church office, or online via the church website, beginning April 1. Completed applications must be submitted to the church office no later than June 1. Awards will be announced no later than July 1. Questions may be addressed to the church office at 335-2826.

Easter Eggstravaganza! We Need Donations & Help

THIS Sat, Mar 30, we will host our 2nd Annual Easter Eggstravaganza. We’ll have an Easter egg hunt and picnic at Herrlinger Park, 302 Union St. Now we need YOUR help! Donations: We need tons of individually wrapped candy and colorful plastic easter eggs which we will fill with the candy. Please drop your bags of pre-wrapped candy & plastic eggs off at the church office or First Place. Help: We need lots of people to help stuff the plastic eggs with candy. We will do this on Tues, Mar 19 at First Place. We also need people to help us pass out flyers around the neighborhood on Tues, Mar 26. Meet in the parking lot at 6pm. See insert for more details and to sign up to help at the event.

Any one in attendance at the 8:15 & 10:45am Traditional services is welcome to come forward and sing the Hallelujah Chorus with the Chancel Choir at the end of the service.

Hospice of Miami County 1st Annual 5K Run/Walk

Saturday, April 6 at 10am Troy Gazebo (behind Hobart Arena)

Registration begins at 8:30am Hospice of Miami County is committed to providing the best possible care, comfort and support to members of our community. We are your local, non-profit, mission drive hospice that has been serving our community for the past 30 years. Hospice care is about how one lives each moment to the fullest extent possible! Proceeds of this 1st Annual race will benefit Hospice of Miami County. The race starts and finishes at the Gazebo behind Hobart Arena in Troy and the out-and-back course follows the bike path along the river. Awards for the Overall Male and Female plus the Top 3 male and female in the following age groups: 9 & Under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & Over. In addition, random door prizes will be given out after the race. Entry fee is $20 if registered by March 28. After March 28, entry fee is $25 and shirts are not guaranteed. ALPHA Course to Begin… Sign-Up NOW!

We are excited to begin our next ALPHA Course on Wednesday, April 10, 2013! ALPHA is a course designed for people to explore different aspects of the Christian Faith in a relaxed, welcoming and non-threatening environment. through June 26th at First Place Christian Center.
