It was Palm Sunday but because of a sore throat, little Jonnie stayed home with a sitter. When the family returned home, they were carrying several palm fronds. Little Jonnie asked them what they were for. "People held them over Jesus' head as he walked by," his father told him. "Wouldn't you know it?" little Jonnie fumed. "The one Sunday I donāt go and he shows up." The 2nd Book of Catholic Jokes by Deacon Tom Sheridan, Published by AC-TA Publications, Chicago, Il Copyriht@2010

TREASURE OF OUR TRADITIONS For many centuries, Christian pilgrims have longed to walk in the footsteps of Jesus, and on Passion Sunday the eyes of the world are on the Via Dolorosa, the āRoad of Sorrows,ā in Jerusalem. As soon as it be-came safe for Christians to worship in public in the fourth century, a way was marked out. It was changed a few times over the years, and todayās usual route was sketched by the Franciscans six hundred years ago, although Anglicans and Byzantines have their own unique detours. Friday is the most favored day, although it is crowded then. Almost everyone begins at the Lionās Gate in the Muslim Quarter, and ends at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Itās less than a quarter mile, but it threads its way through crowded markets with souvenir shops and fast-food snacks. There are, just as in your parish church, fourteen sta-tions along the way. The exact spots are not known, but what matters is the pilgrimās unique ability to see even an ordinary road in a teeming city as something more than meets the eye. āRev. James Field, Copyright Ā© J. S. Paluch Co.
You can help children know they are understood As parents, educators and volunteers, we want chil-dren to know that we are not only authority figures in their lives, but also people they can trust. To foster authentic trust with children, it is important that they know that you understand them. One of the simplest ways to do this is by repeating back what children are telling you. When you do this, you are affirming to the child that they are heard and understood. ========================================= SCHOOL STUDENT NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY The school, mindful of its mission to be a witness to the love of Christ for all, admits students regardless of race, color or national and/or ethnic origin to all rights, privi-leges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available at the school. The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, col-or, disability, sex or national and/or ethnic origin in the administration of educational policies, admissions poli-cies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and oth-er school-administered programs, although certain athlet-ic leagues and other programs may limit participation and some archdiocesan schools operate as single sex schools. While the school does not discriminate against students with special needs, a full range of services may not always be available to them. Decisions concerning the admission and continued enrollment of a student in the school are based upon the studentās emotional, academic and physi-cal abilities and the resources available to the school in meeting the studentās needs.

3/16 Lent is the road that leads from slavery to freedom, from suffering to joy, from death to life. 3/15 In order to prepare a truly human future, it is not enough to reject evil. We must build the common good together. 3/14 If we encounter Jesus and our
brothers and sisters every day, our hearts will not dwell in the past or the future. They will live in God's present moment, in peace with everyone. 3/13 When we allow Jesus to enter our lives we discover the secret to keeping alive the flame of our spiritual life. 3/12 Living the encounter with Jesus means allowing yourself to be turned inside out by Grace every day. 3/11 What would happen to us if God did not always give us the chance to start over again? 3/10 If we dedicate more time to prayer, our hearts will reveal the lies with which we deceive ourselves, and we will find true consolation in God.
