FY2016 was another positive year for Panasonic Factory Solutions Asia Pacific (PFSAP) as we continuously strive to further enhance our environmental sustainability and seek for greater environmental achievements.
Through the ongoing effort of our ISO 14001 Committee, PFSAP managed to achieve all the key environmental targets for energy conservation (CO2 emission), water conservation, waste minimisation, chemical substance usage and number of environmental activity being carried out in FY2016.
This year, we further enhanced our water management program by achieving the Water Efficient Building (WEB) silver certification award in October 2015 under the Industry Electronics Sector category awarded by the Public Utilities Board (PUB) which is the national water agency of Singapore. Previously, PFSAP has obtained the WEB basic certification in 2007. Through recent projects, we implemented additional water metering stations with the support of PUB’s Water Efficient Fund (WEF) to improve the monitoring and measurement of key water consumption areas as part of our water management program.
PFSAP also continued with our upgrading plan to convert all air conditioning systems in phases from water‐cooling tower type to the more energy efficient VRV inverter type so as to improve energy and water conservation.
Finally in the pursuit of green and clean energy, PFSAP managed to finalize the important project for solar panel leasing scheme with Sunseap Leasing Pte Ltd (Singapore) in March 2016. This would involve the installation of 3,476 number of Panasonic HIT®2 294Wp solar panels on the buildings’ roof‐top areas and expect to generate clean power close to 20% of the total company's annual energy consumption. Completion of this solar panel installation project is estimated to complete at the end of 1st Half FY2017 (September 2016).
