panel connections overview

Panel connections are used to connect Panels at various angles and to finish corners and ends.

• Two style options are offered: Traditional and Square• Traditional and Square styles cannot be combined• Metal and Flintwood finishes cannot be combined• Corner connections can be made in 90° and 180° angles• Panel Connections include power and communication lines travelling from panel- to panel through corners

T/O/S trims finish the ends and tops of Panels.

• End Trims and Intermediate Trims must be ordered separately• End Trims and Intermediate Trims are not interchangeable, even though they share some common sizes

Wall Adapter (PWA)• Is used to attach a Panel to a fixedwall or column

• To attach a standard Glass Panel ora Door Panel Wall Adapter PanelHinges (PH) must also be used

Panel-to Panel-Adapter (PPA)• Provides the ability to create an off-module 90˚ condition

• Cannot be attached to Door Panels

• An additional 1" width must beadded to the panel run toaccommodate the space taken up bythe Panel-to-Panel Adapter

• Does not allow power to pass through

• Requires Panel Hinges to attachGlass Elements

• Modular Power Panels (PM) andSuper Panels (PX) can be attachedto Panels of the same height orshorter – Power Panels (PE) mustbe attached to Panels of the sameheight only

Top Trims (TR, TRS)• Cover the exposed horizontal toprail of the Panel

panel connections – corner basics

Corner Trims and Spacers are used on all corners of workstations, and where additional space is required along a Panelrun within a workstation.

Corner Cover Two-Way 90˚ (CC_90, CCS_90) • Creates a full-height connection between twoPanels that join at 90˚

• Three configurations available A-B, and C, eachfinished to match the corner they are beingapplied to – see applications pages for propercorner required

Corner Cover Three-Way (CC_18, CCS_18) • Creates a full-height connection between threePanels where two Panels are connected side byside at a 180˚ angle and the third panel meetsat a 90˚ angle

• Offers six configurations A, B, C, D, E and F,each finished to match the corner they arebeing applied to – see application pages forproper corner required

• Also available 3" Corner Cover Three-Way180˚ No Cap (CC_18)

• The cap is not required when an intermediateconnector is installed above

Panel Spacer (CEC_18, CECS_18) • Creates and covers a full-height space betweentwo Panels which are connected side by side at180˚

• Is the same width as a three or Four-Wayconnector

• Is used to keep Panel runs equal length, whenone run has an additional connector in it – itcreates a 3 7/8" wide space between Panels

• Offers three configurations, G, H, and I eachfinished to match the corner they are beingapplied to – see applications pages for properconnector required

Corner Cover Four-Way 90˚ (CC_4, CCS_4) • Creates and covers a full-height connectionbetween four Panels which meet at 90˚ angles

• Three configurations are available, A, B, and C,each finished to match the corner they arebeing applied to – see applications pages forproper corner required

• The same components are available in a NoCap Version

• CS-4 the cap is not required when anintermediate connector is installed above

Two-Way Intermediate Corner Covers Two-Way 90˚ (CI_90, CIS_90) • Create an intermediate height connectionbetween two Panels that join at a 90˚ angle

• Offer three configurations, A, B, and C, eachfinished to match the corner they are beingapplied to – see applications pages for propercorner required

Additional Products are available for unique connection applications.

Flush Foot (FL280)

• Provides support for wing Panels whereworksurfaces and storage are not attached to thePanel

• Cannot be used if the worksurface or storageare mounted to the Panel

• Cannot be used on panel runs longer than 8'

• Does not replace floor supports onworksurfaces

• If the Panels that the foot is being installed onare manufactured prior to March 1994, specifyFL180

Slot Cover (PSC200) • Is an optional treatment that covers slots on thePanel vertical upright, to conceal theincrements

• Can only be used on Panel frames producedafter March 1994, for Panels prior to that order(PSC100)

Panel Hinge (PH) • Used to connect Panels in situations whereposi-locks cannot be used

• Must also be used to connect Panelsmanufactured prior to November 1987

• Enables the Door Panel to be connected to theWall Adapter (PWA)

Adjustable Filler Panel (PF) • Allows for adjustable short distance connectionbetween two Panels

• Telescopes to cover a distance from either 4" to6" or 6" to 9"

• Is not structural, the Panel run must be stableon its own

A number of connectors are available for connecting Lyft Thin Panels to T/O/S panels. The following rules apply when.

• When the Lyft Thin Panel is being used to support a T/O/S Panel,a worksurface is required at the corner where the Thin Panel andthe T/O/S Panel meet

• This connection can occur without a worksurface if the Lyft thinpanel is stabilized with a Stabilizer Foot and no support is requiredfrom the Lyft Thin Panel

• Lyft Thin Panels can be no more than 15" higher than the T/O/SPanel to which it is attached

• Thin Panel Intermediate Trims (HIT) must be specified separatelywhen Lyft Thin Panel height exceeds T/O/S Panel height

connecting thin panels to other thin panels

The following rules apply when connecting Thin Panels to other Thin Panels.

• For Four-Way 90˚ Connections, a Four-Way Top Cap (included with a Four-Way 90˚ Thin Panel Connector) replaces the Top Cap of the lower most Lyft ThinPanel

• For Three-Way 120˚ Connections, a Three-Way Top Cap (included with a Three-Way 120˚ Thin Panel Connector replaces the Top Cap of the lower most LyftThin Panel

• If a Two-Way or Three-Way 90˚ or a Two-Way 120˚ Thin Panel Connector is specified, Lyft Thin Panel End Trims (HET) (two or three) are required (specifiedseparately)

• If a Four-Way 90˚ or a Three-Way 120˚ Panel Connector is specified, Lyft Thin Panel Intermediate Trims (HIT) are required for change of height panelconnections (specified separately)

• Thin Panel 180˚ Connections are included with Lyft Thin Panels – 90˚ and 120˚ are specified separately. Thin Panel trims (end or intermediate) are required forTwo-Way 90˚ Connections, Three-Way 90˚ Connections, Four-Way 90˚ Connections with a change of height, Two-Way 120˚ Connections, and Three-Way 120˚Connections with a change of height

• Freestanding application opportunities using Monolithic Panels only include space division for common work/meeting areas, open areas, and individualworkstations

• On-module connections only can be made when connecting Lyft Thin Panels to other Lyft Thin Panels

• Connectors can be specified for two-way, three-way and four-way 90˚. Angle for two-way or three-way 120˚ on-module connections between Lyft Thin Panels

Lyft Thin Panels can be connected toeach other with a change of height upto 15"
