Paper Pinwheel

Supplies:

A summer favorite! Learn how to make a pinwheel out of patterned cardstock,then let the DIY Paper Pinwheel spin around & round.

Crayola Bright Pop! Cardstock

Crayola Washable Stamper Markers

Hole Punch

Paper Straw

Crayola Scissors

Ruler

Brass Fasteners

Steps:

1 Pick your favorite pattern ofcardstock.

2 Cut out a 6” x 6” section ofcardstock.

3 On the non-patterned side, createdesigns with stampers.

4 With the stamped side facing up,fold the bottom right corner to thetop left corner, creating a triangle.Unfold.



5 Fold the bottom left corner to thetop right corner, creating a triangle.Unfold.

6 Cut a 3” slit from each cornertoward the center.

7 Punch a hole in the corner to theright of the first slit.

8 Rotate counterclockwise andrepeat until each side has a holepunch.

9 Use brass fastener to create asmall slit in center of cardstock.



10 Fold punched corners to thecenter so holes overlap.

11 Hold in place and insert brassfastener, flattening legs to holdpinwheel in place.

12 Flatten the end of straw andpunch hole 1/2” from the end.

13 Place fastener through the hole inthe straw and flatten legs to hold inplace.



14 Blow pinwheel & watch it spin!

CIY Staff Tips:Keep brass fastener slightly loose to help pinwheel spin faster.
