Paper Requirements
1. Writers of papers
Writers of papers sent to us must be active undergraduate students of universities in
Indonesia. This is because this seminar is held to give undergraduate students opportunities
to present their aspirations.
The writers can be:
1.1. an individual student
1.2.a group of students consisting of max. 3 students, and
1.3. from a faculty in a university, some faculties in a university, or some universities.
2. Theme and topic of paper
The paper should be related to the theme of this national student seminar on Culture and
International Language (CIL): Actualizing Ourselves as a Part of Global Society through
Local Culture and National Identity.
The participants may choose one of these following topics:
1.1. Diversity of local cultures forming the national identity.
1.2. Literature studies related to local culture, national identity, and global society.
1.3. Learning international cultures through international language learning.
1.4. Using international languages to promote Indonesian culture.
1.5.Cultural diversity in the era of globalization.
3. Paper format
2.1.The paper must be written in English.
2.2.The paper must be typed, in A4 paper, single-spaced, justified, Times New Roman, and
1 inch margins (top, bottom, left, and right). Font size for footnote is 10; the font size
for abstracts is 11, whereas the font size for whole papers and references is 12.
Abstracts should be italicized.
2.3.The paper (5 8 pages in total) must include: abstract (max. 250 words), introduction,
theoretical background, analysis/discussion, conclusion, and references.
2.4.References of the paper should use APA style.

Kristono, Lany. (2009). Sekolah bertaraf internasional (International quality school)

4. Miscellaneous
4.1.Abstracts or papers should be sent to our email at [email protected]
in Microsoft Word so that they are able to be adjusted.
4.2.Abstracts should be sent before April 15, 2012. Some qualified ones will be informed
on April 30, 2012. Full paper can be sent before May 15, 2012. Highly qualified papers
will be published in a form of a book with an ISBN. The books can be ordered by
sending a certain fee before May 15, 2012.
4.3.Early registration of this national seminar is on April 15 May 15, 2012 about IDR
250.000; while the regular registration is on May 16 June 1, 2012 about IDR 300.000
(accommodation is not included).

A qualified paper will not be considered anymore if there is no receipt of payment sent
to us before May 15, 2012. Please scan and send us your receipt of payment to our

4.4.Plagiarism is considered a crime.
