I went with my parents

to visit the Paradise

Cove Gardens on

Wednesday, Nov. 3

at 2:00 pm in the

afternoon. It was

overcast when we

arrived. Paradise Cove

is just west of the Ihilani

Resort (in photo).

Exit the H1 freeway and

head south towards the

Ko’olina Resort. Stop

at the guardshack (as

seen in photo) and

mention you are going

to Paradise Cove. Enter

the first driveway on the

right.

Keep right as you enter

the driveway. To visit,

we were told to park

in the bus stalls (right).

For the wedding, there

will be an attendant

(pictured in photo) to

direct you to a separate

parking lot (60 stalls).

Overflow parking is

available.

The reception area,

the restrooms building

and entrance are

mauka. The Paradise

Cove luau is toward the

east (blocked by trees).

The sunset (makai) is

expected to set around

7:00 pm towards the

right side of the horizon.

As we look closer, the

reception area is on the

mauka side. Restrooms

and the entrance

(exit) are nearby. The

ceremony area is on

the makai side of the

property. 50 chairs

will be setup for guests

here. CEREMONY AREA

Luckily we witnessed a

photo session. Paradise

Cove has a small chapel

on the mauka side of

the gardens that it rents

out for small Japanese

weddings.

As always, restrooms

are important to have

at any event. I think

there are enough

stalls for each side, but

unfortunately the men’s

restroom offers little

privacy.

Well, after many emails

back and forth, it’s good

to put a face next to the

name. Here’s a photo

of Camille Oliver and me.

The event coordinator is

another person who was

not there at the time of

our visit.
