Paraguay is in South America, Between Argentina, Bolivia, and Brazil

CLIMATE

• The climate of Paraguay is tropical to subtropical. The weather in the winter averages to 65 degrees Fahrenheit. And in the summer 83 degrees Fahrenheit.

• It rains an average of 50 inches each year.

CLOTHING

• The traditional clothing in Paraguay is breathable and light. It is colorful and Embroidery, or colorful stitching is an important decoration.

RELIGION

• The majority of people in Paraguay are Catholic.

FOOD

• Terere is a cold tea that is enjoyed in Paraguay, for breakfast terere is served with chipa, a kind of bread, and mbeju, an omelet style cheese pancake. Its made with corn flour, pork fat, salt eggs and milk. It’s like a salty cheesy corn pancake.tortilla.

• Other food include a cheesy rice, barbequed meat, and empanadas, or fried sandwich style pastry pockets.

HOLIDAYS CELIBRATIONS• The feast of the immaculate

conception is a holiday that is very popular in Paraguay. It Celebrates the Catholic belief of when the virgin Mary, was carrying the baby Jesus before he was born.

• The people make a long journey to the city of Caacupe where they pray for help to a special statue of Mary, who they call “Our Lady of Miracles”

LANGUAGE

• The official language is Spanish. Another popular language is Guarani, which is a native language.

GOVERNMENT

The Government of Paraguay is a presidential republic, just like the USA. Presidents are chosen by vote, by the people, and stay in power for 5 years.
