Campus Resources
Dear Temple Parents and Families,
Parents and Family Weekend is designed to allow you to reconnect with your student while taking in the sights,
sounds, and recreational opportunities that Temple University and the city of Philadelphia have to offer. It is
also a great time to experience first-hand what life is like on campus and off.
The Temple Parent and Family Program exists to partner with parents and families in order to ensure student
success from enrollment to commencement. This is done by providing opportunities for parents and families to
engage with their students, the University, faculty and staff, as well as other parents and family members.
Through education and sharing valuable resources and services available within the University community, we
hope to develop partnerships, foster tradition, and enhance Temple pride that encourages students and their
parents and family members to be invested members of our community.
Our program goals are to:
Serve as a central resource for parents and families and enhance strong partnerships for student success
Enhance parent and family involvement opportunities throughout the University community
Provide information about the student experience at Temple University
Foster tradition, pride, and investment in our community
We hope that the next few days offer you the opportunity to enjoy some quality time as a family. Staff members
will be on hand for your assistance throughout the weekend. Please let any of our Owl Team Leaders know how
we can make your visit more positive. On behalf of the university and our office, thank you for attending PFW
2015.

Parent & Family Association
Mission
Temple University’s Parent and Family Association, The Parliament, intensifies and improves the
student experience by providing parents and family members a network of support. The Parliament
serves as a connection to the University and provides parents and family members with
communication, involvement, and development opportunities.
Functional Areas
Education and Communication
The Parliament facilitates communication among students, parents and family members,
and University administrators in order to ensure that parents and family members have
access to timely and accurate information. Additionally, the Parliament acts as a vehicle
through which parents and family members can ask questions and communicate concerns.
Some of these avenues include social media and our Parents and Family Newsletter in
addition to providing educational opportunities through the Parent and Family Orientation
Program.
Involvement and Networking
The Parliament provides opportunities for parents and family members to engage with the
campus community by participating in campus events including New Student Orientation,
Move-In, Welcome Week, Parents and Family Weekend, and Parents and Family Day.
Development
The Parliament works with the University to provide opportunities for parents and family
members to invest in and give back to the institution through volunteer opportunities or
financial contributions that support and advance the University in a variety of ways.
If you are interested in learning more about this initiative, please join us on
Sunday for our first annual meeting and information session.
