Tea'hers and #olunteers at /arikrma in'orporate #arious 'reati#e
methods to deli#er their respe'ti#e modules to the students. These
te'hniues are to make learning fun and to get students in#ol#ed in
their lessons. Hoe#er5 sub0e'ts like athemati's and "'ien'e are still
dreaded b& some of the students. Also5 -nglish being the onl&linguisti' medium used at our 'entres5 turning -nglish lessons into
something more relatable is highl& important.
We in#ite our #olunteers to 'ome up ith a lesson plan that not onl&
deli#ers the reuired knoledge5 but also en'ourages our students
to gi#e up on the fear of an& sub0e't5 espe'iall& athemati's.

learning disabilities su'h as AGHG and d&sle+ia. This is'ompounded b& the fa't that man& of them 'ome from a harshen#ironment here beatings and Mghts are 'ommon. The 'heerful fa'es of the students and sta!5 despite the spartanfa'ilities at the s'hool5 made me respe't the prin'ipal5 tea'hers5
#olunteers and s'hool 'leaners at /arikrma. The& 'ould re'ei#ebetter salaries tea'hing and orking at pri#ate s'hools5 but the&'hose to sti'k ith /arikrma be'ause of their 'on#i'tion in helpingthe marginalised. I hope m& ork helps bring a positi#e 'hange inthese &oung li#es.
