The Rhythm of the Christian Life The Holy Trinity Parish Year (Sep 2019 – May 2020) begins this week after the Labor Day holiday. The Universal Church Liturgical Year begins on the First Sunday of Advent, December 1st. Merton & Me – A Living Trinity

Actor, educator and Holy Trinity Lector Douglas Hertler, aka Doug Loury, will present his one-man show, Merton & Me – A Living Trinity, here at Holy Trinity on Saturday, Sept. 21st, 2:00 PM. Merton and Me explores the struggles of youth, the complexities of faith and the universal search for meaning in an increasingly chaotic and divided world. Thomas Merton is often associated with the very idea of Contemplation, which has been described as “an immediate and in some sense passive intuition of the inmost reality, of our spiritual self and of God present within us.” A must-see for long-time devotees of Merton and those new to this modern-day American monk. R.C.I.A Christian Initiation: Classes begin September18th

Never Baptized? Would like to be Received into the Catholic Church? Baptized, but Never Received First Eucharist? Baptized, but Never Received Confirmation?

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the usual way we welcome people into our Church family. Anyone interested in participating in this process (Sep – Apr) contact Colleen Glazer, Parish Program Manager, [212-787-0634] and meet with Msgr. Sandi in the rectory (to the left of the church) for a “Meet and Greet” at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, September 18th

Parents of Boys and Girls,

Grade 5 and Older

Boys and girls in the 5th grade and older will soon be invited to be trained and then formally blessed as Trinity Altar Servers. It’s a great honor to assist the priest in the celebration of the Eucharist in the name of our parishioners. Serving Mass also displays an excellent model of prayer and good behavior for other children. Please consider it; give them the opportunity to shine for all to see and celebrate! See next week’s Bulletin for an announcement.

PARISH MASTER CALENDAR If you are a parish group leader, make sure to get your meeting dates on the MASTER PARISH CALENDAR, maintained by Colleen Glazer, so we will not accidentally “bump into one another” throughout the year. Thank you!

OUR PARISH PLEDGE We, who are “the living stones” of God’s

+ Holy Trinity – 10 Years Ago + “from the archives!”

The Give/Take Board Coming into the church today you may have noticed something new: in one of the glass boxes in the narthex, the Parish Council has set up a Give/Take Board. The idea is to provide parishioners the opportunity to donate, trade, or take children’s toys, furniture, or safety items such as car seats, strollers, etc. – items you no longer need but which are still good and usable. (2/08/09) “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?” Take a seat for our “three-course meal” Parish Mission Retreat! Fr. Robert Joerger, C.P. will present: – 1st Presentation: “Up a Tree” – Jesus comes to dinner at the house of Zaccheus (Sun., 9/20 – 7:00 PM) – 2nd Presentation: “Who Is That at the Next Table?” – Jesus comes to dinner at the house of Simon the Religious Leader, and in comes a woman with a “bad reputation around town.” (Mon., 9/21 – 7:30 PM) – 3rd Presentation: “A Breakfast at the Beach” – Jesus asks the question that really matters: “Do you love me?” (Tues., 9/22 – 7:30 PM) Come and listen with the heart to the “seasonings” of Jesus’ wisdom – of searching, of healing, of forgiveness, of belong-ing, of loving. All are welcome! (9/13/09)

(Mt 11, 29).
