WE’VE BEEN CHALLENGED
Brothers, at the Officers Installation, Fr. Tully, Pastor of St. Paul’s and Faithful Friar to our brothers in New Bern called upon all the members of both Councils and Assemblies to face the challenge of increasing our memberships. When Fr. McGivney formed the Knights it was an organization open to all Catholic men and it remains committed to that vision. Our challenge is to invite all Catholic men to participate in our fraternal unity with charity to all. We all know it is easier not to invite, not to have our invitation rejected; but brothers it is most necessary for the growth of our order. We also encourage all of you to read our Columbia Magazine, July/August for more insight into the history of our orders outstanding diversity. Eventually there will come a time when the restrictions will be lifted and the dispensation concerning mass will be no more. Sadly, misguidedly, many will have found virtual mass or the freedom of not attending an alternative to full and active participation. Tennis courts golf courses and easy chairs cannot ever replace our need for a relationship with our God and savior. As true believers and dedicated Catholic men, we need to seek out and encourage all to come back, to once again experience the relationship with our God, to receive the sacraments and the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist. Together we can face and accomplish these challenges in charity, unity and fraternity.
The Knights of Columbus Council 6648 invites all Catholic men over 17 to join us in serving our
families, our parish, our Church, our God. The process can now be completed on line and within less than an hour you can attain the rank of 3rd degree. For more information go to KofC.org/joinus or
contact us by email to [email protected].
Catholic Daughters of America Socks –n- Undies Program Annunciation CDA is collecting new socks, undies, PJs and jackets for school-age children in our local community who are in need of basic
necessities. Your donations are greatly appreciated and can be dropped in the box in back of the church. For more information, contact any member of our CDA. Thank you!
If you are attending Annunciation and are not registered with the Parish as a member, we have no idea if you are a participating Catholic or not, so please register and if you can not afford to give monetarily please put a
blank visitors envelope in the offertory so that we know you are attending. Also for all of you who pay by cash we really appreciate it but if you would put it in an envelope we could track that you are attending as well. It is important when it comes to all the Sacraments. We can not say you are active if we do not know. Thank you…
Parishioners—Do you have ONE HOUR during the Month that you could spend adoring our Lord and Sav-ior present in the Holy Eucharist? This is only ONE hour out of 480 hours of “awake” time, giving you 45 minutes to arrive at the Church then spend ONE hour in communal prayer (which includes approximately 20 minutes of private meditation) then 45 minutes to arrive back at your residence. You have used up just .007% of your “awake” time. Nocturnal adoration begins at 7:00 pm on the Thursday before the First Friday of every month. The two hour
period begins with the exposition of the Blessed Eucharist, and one hour of communal prayer hour begins. The next hour will be silent prayer and meditation which
will end with Benediction
ALL ARE INVITED.

Have you heard our news? Annunciation Catholic School will be
in-person, full time for 2020-2021! Following the Governor's announcement, Annuncia-tion Catholic School will open on August 10 with in-person attendance for all students. Our building's ca-pacity does not necessitate a need for staggered attend-ance. Our current density meets the state guidelines given our enrollment and staff numbers. There will be many health and safety precautions for us to ensure the best environment for our students, but I am confident that we can meet those requirements. There will be ample training so that we can all operate within the safety guidelines for our students, faculty, and families. We will also learn how to instruct our students and families to help us maintain this safe environment. What precautions is Annunciation taking to ensure a safe experience for our students?
Practicing Social Distancing Students will be seated 6 feet apart to ensure a safe distance Daily Health Screenings All students and staff will be screened daily to ensure that symptomatic individuals will be sent home for proper care Preventing the Spread The entire school will be deep-sanitized every day. All students and staff (K-8) are required to wear cloth face coverings.
