Matthew 28:19…go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit… Dear Friends, Greetings from Chiang Mai! We pray that you are rejoicing in the Lord this day and being blessed by His presence. Church Planting Sila (Rock) Christian Church is continuing in God's grace and love. We have some exciting news to share with you about two young ladies in our church. Many of you remember Praew, one of the young girls our ministry has been fostering through a Thai family. Praew and her friend, Noon, were baptized into Christ on August 5, 2012! Both girls come from unchurched and broken families with little knowledge of the Lord. Noon lives with her grandparents and only sees her mother and siblings occasionally. Praew's earthly father is an evil man who threatened to kill her mother and perhaps even her and her sister. When we first met her she was so angry and very very depressed... But now since she has given her life to her Father in heaven, she smiles so much more! It's so sweet to see the changes the Lord has made in both Praew and Noon's lives! We invite you to join with us in celebrating these girls' decisions and also ask that you would pray for them to grow in their faith and remain faithful to the Lord. Also, let us pray for several other people in the church who are also thinking about this decision to follow Christ. Choosing to follow Christ and be immersed is definitely not the most popular decision in this 97% Buddhist country. Most Buddhists see this decision as a rejection of being a good citizen of Thailand. New Christians are often persecuted by their family and friends and need the church to be their new family and support system. Please pray for Jesus to draw more people to believe in Him despite social pressures. Matthew 28:19…go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit…

Dear Friends,Greetings from Chiang Mai! We pray that you are rejoicing in the Lord this day and being blessed by His presence.

Church PlantingSila (Rock) Christian Church is continuing in God's grace and love.

But now since she has given her life to

her Father in heaven, she smiles so much more!

Trip to Pa Mai DangIn June 2012, our ministry team joined together with the mission team from First Christian Church of Cookeville, TN to take a trip four hours away to Pa Mai Dang village in Mae Tang. This village consists of mainly Karen Sagaw tribal people with very few Christians. We brought blankets, clothes, medicine, mosquito nets, and care packages with Christian literature to distribute to the poor villagers as well as a generator to provide electricity for showing the Jesus film in the Karen Sagaw language.

Many people in the village cannot speak or understand Thai. They were so surpised to see Jesus speaking in their heart language and asked to see more Christian videos. They also were very interested in seeing pictures and hearing the gospel story as our team sat around and visited in their homes. We stayed with the people for three days teaching and preaching the Word of God.

The mission team from Tennessee taught the story of David and Goliath, sang special songs, and communicated with the local people through laughter and hand language. The team was shocked at the living conditions of the people and lack of access to clean bathrooms and clean drinking water. It was a real eye-opening experience and shows just how blessed we are in the USA.

The villagers were so grateful that

we all came and shared our lives with them. Since this trip our ministry team has been on one follow up trip in order to teach more about what it means to be a Christian. We plan to do more follow up trips in the coming months.

We want to thank you for your partnership in taking the gospel to the ends of the earth. May the Lord bless you according to His glorious riches in Christ.

In Christ,

Phil and Michelle Parker

A facility similar to the one pictured below for praise, worship, and Bible teaching is needed.

Long Term Plans

Land and Multi-Purpose Buildings

Our ministry has been expanding and growing quickly with around 40-50 people attending services in our home and small office each week. The noise level is high for a Thai residential area where the houses are built extremely close together. There have been several complaints from our neighbors suggesting we move to a new location. Furthermore, services and classrooms are overcrowded every single week. Our current facilities are just not sufficient for Sila Christian Church to grow and flourish.

Lord willing, we look to purchase land and multiple buildings within the next three years as funds become available. These new facilities will have multiple functions such as hosting worship services, both large and small group meetings for Sila Christian Church, hosting seminars from partnering mission groups, teaching English as community outreach for children and adults, a children's home for children "at risk" with boys and girls dorm and staff dorms, a Bible Institute for Christian Education, sports ministry facilities, and other activities.
