Seven Bridges (2.23 acres, 201 S. Grove St.)

This park at the south end of town on Main Street has a gazebo as well as bench swings overlooking the river. Commemorative signs share the story of some of Bridgewater’s history during the Civil War.

Edgebriar Park (0.24 acres, 101 East Riverside Dr.)

Edgebriar Park is a pocket park located next to North River on East Riverside Drive. In 2007 this park received a major make-over, including the addition of a handicap accessible fishing pier overlooking the river, and backgammon or chess inlaid game tables sitting near the river’s edge. Strategically placed benches face either the river or the double water garden that features a waterfall and is filled with a variety of fish and plants. The combination of these amenities creates an atmosphere suitable for reflection and relaxation.

Bridgeview Park (2.58 acres, 220 W. Bank St.)

Located between 214 and 300 West Bank Street and bordering North River, the special feature of this park is the quarter mile

fitness walking trail. At various points along the way are 18 exercise stations. In addition, this park provides a children’s fitness center, riverfront bench swings, and benches.

Generations Park (.721 Acres, 412 North Main St.)

Generations Park features ice skating during the winter season. Ice skating season begins on Thanksgiving Day and is open daily through the beginning of March. The skating is free for all Town residents who present a

B-Rec pass. A nominal fee is charged for non-residents. For more information on hours of operation and rates visit our website at www.bridgewater.town.

Throughout the rest of the year, Generations Park is home to the After Dark at Gen Park concert and movie series, the Harris Concert series, and other events.

Bird Sanctuary (0.75 acres, 211 West Riverside Dr.)

Bird watchers will enjoy this quiet, secluded spot tucked behind a few houses on West Riverside Drive. Trees and shrubs provide shelter for a variety of our feathered friends, and there’s a bench on North River’s bank.

Oakdale Park (36.5 acres, 134 Mt. Crawford Ave.)

The biggest and busiest of our town parks, Oakdale is home to our Summer’s End

Celebration as well as the North River Library and the Bridgewater Little League Program. The park has three picnic areas (Shelter Nos. 1 and 2 each have 10 tables, and Shelter No. 3 has 16 tables with restroom facilities attached). Park

amenities include a basketball court, two playgrounds (one for preschool children, the other for school-aged children), BBQ grills and water spigots at the shelters, four horseshoe pits, plenty of off-street parking, and open areas to run and play. Baseball field #4 is available for public use. Reservations for all park shelters are made by registering on Community Pass or by calling B-Connected at 908-4212.

Wildwood Park (10 acres, 606 West Bank St.)

Located on the western edge of town, along the North River, this park is a wonderful combination of open, sunny spaces as well as cool, shady areas. The picnic shelter has 10 tables, a stone fireplace, a BBQ grill and available water. The latest addition to the park is Downrush Vista, which is a platform overlooking the North River. Other amenities include a playground, swing set, restroom facilities and numerous picnic tables and BBQ grills throughout the

park. Enjoy the 0.3 mile path that meanders through the backside of Wildwood and visit the various markers that give interesting environmental facts about the local plants and wildlife. Fishing is allowed and is subject to the regulations of the Virginia Game and Inland Fisheries. Parking at Wildwood is LIMITED with 29 spaces

available. There is a hitching post for horses. Please note that there is NO off-street parking. Reservations for all park shelters are made by registering on Community Pass or by calling B-Connected at 908-4212.

Dinkel-Harris Gateway at Warm Springs Turnpike Park

(0.13 acres, 710 North Main St.) This pocket park, located on the corner of Oakwood Drive and Main Street, details the historical significance of what was once known as the Warm Springs Turnpike (present day route 42). The park consists of a statue of a horse and buggy and three pedestal-style signs, each containing historical information on this important roadway.

Cooks Creek Arboretum (8 acres, 211 Weeping Willow Ln.)

Cooks Creek Arboretum is a small eight-acre park. As the trees mature, this will become a natural preserve where people can observe birds and other small wildlife in their natural environment. Turner Ashby High School students planted many of the trees throughout this park. It has ample parking, several picnic tables, and a walking path.

Wynant Park (0.83 Acres, 115 East College St.)

One of Bridgewater’s smaller recreational areas, this pocket park is nestled between a group of homes where Wynant Place meets East College Street. It has a swing set, a small playground, a hammock, and a picnic table.

Sandy Bottom

Par-3 and

Mini-Golf (18.15 Acres, 610 East College St.)

Sandy Bottom Park is home to Bridgewater’s Par-3 nine-hole golf course, and an 18-hole miniature golf course. The park facilities also include a practice green, restrooms, several picnic tables, two gazebos, and ample parking. The Par-3 and Mini-Golf remain open April 1st through October 31st. The courses are free for all Town residents who present a B-Rec pass. A nominal fee is charged for non-residents. Mini-Golf is also available for private parties (for more information call 908-4212).

Harrison Park (15 acres, 301 Grove St.)

On the corner of Grove and Green Street, you will find Harrison Park. It is home to the Doug Will Tennis Center, which houses two indoor, hard-surface tennis courts and two pickleball courts. This facility is available to Town of Bridgewater residents for free with a B-Rec pass. All other individuals must pay a fee either annually, monthly or hourly. Visit our website to reserve the indoor tennis courts.

The park grounds include a full basketball court and a playground area containing a swing set and play structure with a slide and climbing equipment. During the third week of July, Harrison Park is the venue for the Bridgewater Fire Department’s Lawn Party.

Whitelow Park (4.73 Acres, 4155 Dry River Rd.)

Located near the Millview Estates subdivision, this park honors Bridgewater resident Carlyle Whitelow. His morning greetings, generosity,

and good-nature are widely known. For enriching the lives of so many in our community, this park is dedicated to him. This park includes a walking trail, play structure, and swing set.
