Intuitive multiple search methods
For us it is important, that you will find therequired information quick, to increase there-use and avoid increasing diversity ofparts. The PartExplorer may allocate datawhich is spread over different systems, to beseen with on look. This saves up to
per user every day. Additionalcan be saved using the inte-
grated accessory- and configuration module.
20minutes 2-5min per part
There are lots of ways to find the needle inthe haystack using the classification structure, automatic keywording, synonyms, searchhistories, personal favorites, autofilter, classspecific properties, master data, preferenceindicators, order number, configurations, acessory relations, and so on.
Classification causes quicker finding. Theintuitive user interface of the PartExplorercauses its .acceptance

Automatic classification or parts
PartExplorer will finally put an end to themain criticism of classification systems: 1st.How to find the right class for the part I wantto classify? 2nd. The manual effort enteringthe values of the classification properties.
PartExplorer will automatically evaluate theright class for a part based on the name, description, part number or any other criteriawith hardly any customization. The only thingto do is to drag&drop the part into the classopened. In conjunction with the 3D-searchengine 3DSearchIT the part may also beautomatically put into the right class by justthe look of its shape.
In case the part is a standard, companystandard or buy part it will take its propertiesfrom the catalog and write it to the classwhere you just put the part into. Sounds likewitchcraft? No, its not. We just consequentlyuse standardized properties according toDIN 4002.
But what about the self-drawn parts, especially those made from semi-finishedproducts such as profiles or sheet metal? Thebest solution is to write the main dimensionsinto the class table (see screen shot of page2), and leave all the other properties to thealgorithm of the 3D-search engine. Thissaves a lot of needless work without any lossof quality.
You may find further information on separateproduct sheets concerning the followingpoints:
3D-search engine - 3DSearchIT.
Management of master data insidePartExplorer or synchronization to ERP-systems.
Standards, company standards, andcatalogs (standard part system).

Classification structures
You will love this function once you get tocleaning up your part spectrum or evenharmonizing site specific part numbers. Thedublicate analysis will find similar parts byequations or tolerances across master dataand class specific properties. Those may thenbe blocked for further use in new products oreven be deleted.
3DsearchIT for geometric searching deliversalso fully automatic cluster- and dublicateanalyses of your 3D-models.
PartExplorer contains a ready-to-use classifi-cation structure which you may start withright-away. If needed, you may create a newstructure, modify the existing according toyour needs or standards like DIN 4000,4002, eCl@ss, UN/SPSC, FSF. Classificationstructures within other systems may be impor-ted and can be synchronized continously.
New are the virtual links: Any node of theclassification structure may be virtually linkedto other places. All data of classified partshowever will only be entered once.
Properties may be hierarchically bequeathedto accomplish comprehensive search.Unique are our graphiccal properties, whichrepresent values by pictures to allow picture-based searching.

Configurations and accessories
Using simple rules on basis of master dataor class properties you span a net of rela-tions between the classes of your classifica-tion structure. Accessory parts to the part youhave just clicked are indicated right away.PartExplorer contains an editor for easydefinition of those rules allowing complexnumeric and alphanumeric operations.
Complete configurations are the result ofcombining several rules with each other. Thisallows configurating complex assemblies, saves, and distributes your knowledge ofvariant constructions within your group.

Automizing your classificationprocess (Workflow)
Configuration of user profiles
Part-, document-, and modelmanagement
PartExplorer supplies a special “classificationstatus” for automizing the classificationworkflow. This indicates the status and qualityof a classification record of a part. The statewill be set manually or by automatism whenclassifying parts depending on the role andrights of the user. A harmonizer comparableto the one releasing master data may soassure high quality data.
An integrated mailtool may be used toautomize standard processes like request fornew classes, communicating insufficientdata, and so on.
Master data for parts, documents and CAD-models of PartExplorer may be synchronizedwith the leading PLM system or may bemanaged by the PartExplorer itself. Interfacesto ERP-, DMS, and PDM-systems areavailable, partly with direct access to the
Rights of user profiles (roles) may be confi-gured in any detail according to your needs.Roles may be applied to users or usergrups.Configuration covers for example read andwrite access to data, defining role specificsearch strategies or search pattern as well asexecution of commands and functions.
original data. In all cases of interfaces wefollow the philosophy: Any information (datafield) shall have only one data source(system), where it will be edited.
Documents of any kind or number (drawings, quality statistics, ...) may be referenced toparts or classes. They can be viewed byinternal or external viewers. User-Exits allowaccess to drawing archives, available stock, proclamations, and so on.
Please refer to the more detailed informationon our product sheet regarding the manage-ment of part and document master data.
Geometry of the parts can directly be loadedto your CAD-system. The PartExplorercontains CAD-interfaces to all commonCAD-systems (AutoCAD, CATIA, Inventor,ME10, MicroStation, Pro/E, SolidEdge,SolidWorks, Unigraphics) with no extra costs. The user’s right of loading CAD-geometrymay be configured by the user profile whichincludes checking the release status of theselected part.
New geometry can easily be checked intoPDM or the model management of thePartExplorer. Clicking a CAD-geometry withinCAD will force the PartExplorer to indicate itsmeta data.
