Participatory Stove Design
• Stoves are built using local material: clay and sand.• The stoves’ pieces are not heavy to facilitate having women
fix the stove. • We use the villagers’ traditional collective work to have
the villagers build the stoves and distribute them through • out the region.

RESULTS
•After 5 years our participatory stoves are the most accepted by Mexico’s rural communities.
•Participatory stoves have replaced bonfires by almost 80%.•by incorporating the villagers' traditions the lifetime of our stoves has surpassed all previous implementations.
