ACTIVITY NOTES
Before your class, cut each of the handouts into 15 squares, two set per 3 students. Have your students seated in groups of three and give each group a set of picture cards, face-down, together with a set of matching partitive phrase cards. Make sure the card sets are shuffled or mixed thoroughly, but make sure the picture cards and word cards are separated into two groups on a desk, otherwise the activity will be too difficult. The activity can begin with one of the students selecting a picture card, and then selecting a partitive phrase card. If the cards match, then that student can keep the two cards. If they dont match, that student must return the cards face-down in their same, original positions on the desk. Play continues with another student choosing two cards as above, etc. At the end of the activity, the player with the most cards is the winner.
