TRANSCRIPT
Tawasul Telecom has been providing managed MPLS Services with 24/7 support and monitoring to AT&T since 2011 supporting AT&Ts presence in the Middle East & North Africa region.
As of 2003, AT&T is one of the four SWIFT recommended “Network Partners ” (NP) to provide MPLS services to SWIFT end-users.
Tawasul Telecom’s SWIFTconnect has been approved by AT&T as an extension to AT&T’s Enhanced VPN service, which is a highly resilient global MPLS service that is accredited by SWIFT.
AT&T and Tawasul Telecom have expanded the partnership, making Tawasul Telecom an authorized SWIFT EVPN Service reseller in Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Palestine, Libya, Jordan, Lebanon, and Egypt.

What isTawasul SWIFTconnect?
Tawasul SWIFTconnect oers end-to-end SWIFT connectivity by being the sole interface to order and deliver all the required network service components for the SWIFT connectivity service.
Tawasul SWIFTconnect oers the local SWIFT community :
Through Tawasul Telecom’s in-country network nodes, the local SWIFT community gains access to 5 international AT&T – SWIFT Backbone Access Points (BAP's) located in: Zoeterwoude (NL), Zurich, Hong Kong, Manassas (US) and Culpeper (US).
Choice of a new & commercially competitive SWIFT connectivity oering in-country on a globally consistent network platform and MPLS based VPN service approved by AT&T as an extension of its EVPN service that is accredited by SWIFT.
Redundant international access to the SWIFTNet production environment via AT&T’s SWIFT-accredited Enhanced VPN service.
Multiple levels of diversity on international cable routes, local infrastructure and local communication media.
Application Awareness: via included Class Of Service (COS) to support applications that carry business data and transactional trac where packet delivery is critical.
Service Architecture
SWIFT builds on top of the carrier’s MPLS service an IP Sec tunnel network that secures the SWIFT messages. The IP Sec tunnel is established between end-user locations and the nearest BAP by means of a Juniper VPN device (Juniper SSG 5), which is connected to the Tawasul SWIFTconnect managed router. The IP Sec tunnel terminates in a Juniper Concentrator, located in the SWIFT BAP.
In case that the primary MPLS service fails, the Juniper device (not the router) automatically recovers the lost IPsec tunnel over a backup path which is either an internet connection or another network partner’s MPLS connection.
Tawasul Telecom’s SWIFTconnect solution is based on the following service elements:
Network Port oering international connectivity to the SWIFT International Datacenters via AT&T’s Enhanced VPN & Tawasul Telecom’s SWIFT connect networks
Local leased line between the SWIFT end-user’s location and the Tawasul Telecom in-country network node
Managed (Cisco) router at the SWIFT end-user’s location

Alliance Connect
SILVERSWIFT has developed VPN box congurations that SWIFT end users can choose from to connect into SWIFT.
Alliance Connect Silver oers SWIFT connectivity through: a private connection to the nearest Tawasul Telecom POP as a primary channel and a public Internet connection as a back-up channel.
The primary private connection uses the Tawasul SWIFTconnect secure MPLS network to connect to SWIFT.
The Internet back-up is based on the public Internet. The Internet connection has to be provided by the customer (wiring, router). Customer may reuse an existing Internet connection to create a cost eective back-up path for Tawasul’s private connection.
The standard Alliance Connect Silver conguration protects against a failure of the primary router, private connection or the VPN box through automatic fall-over to the Internet back-up channel. The VPN boxes are co-located and interconnected via a local Ethernet segment.

Alliance Connect
GOLDAlliance Connect Gold oers connectivity to SWIFT through two private MPLS connections of the same speed. Tawasul Telecom provides 2 SWIFTconnect (private MPLS connections) terminating on redundant Tawasul in-country POPs and; ideally, using 2 dierent last mile providers.
The Alliance Connect Gold conguration protects against a failure of the primary router, access line and the VPN box through automatic fall-over to the second line. By leveraging the Tawasul Telecom international managed network, Alliance Connect Gold oers the highest resiliency and service level.
With Alliance Connect Gold it is possible to split types of trac (e.g.InterAct and FileAct trac from Browse trac) and to route it over the second link, eectively load sharing the trac on both links. The VPN boxes are co-located and interconnected via a local Ethernet segment.

OPERATIONALsupport and reportingIn order to maintain strict quality control, in case of an operational issue of any kind with the Alliance Connect service, SWIFT, AT&T and Tawasul Telecom have agreed that the SWIFT end-user will log all such trouble tickets with the regional SWIFT Customer Service Centres.
Reactive: Upon logging of a call, SWIFT will analyse the fault. In case of a network related issue, SWIFT will open a trouble ticket with AT&T who in turn will open a ticket with Tawasul Telecom.
Proactive: Upon identifying a suspect problem in the network , Tawasul Telecom will notify AT&T and open a trouble-ticket and AT&T will in-turn notify SWIFT to track and resolve.
SWIFT will follow-up with AT&T and AT&T will follow up with Tawasul Telecom towards resolution while SWIFT remains the SWIFT end-user’s operational single point of contact.
As per SWIFT guidelines, Tawasul Telecom & AT&T will provide SWIFT with detailed monthly incident & performance reports.
