Chapman Partnership receives coveted 4-star rating from Charity Navigator
We are excited to be part of the solution to the growing problem of homeless families in our community. A spike in January left more than 80 families languishing in hotels. Chapman Partner-ship quickly coordinated a team effort to reduce the backlog, placing families in our two centers or into stable housing. With an incessant demand we are extremely pleased to announce that Chapman Part-nership will open a 44-bed family dormitory at the North facility this summer!
We also will open the renovated Family Re-source Center at the Chapman North location, which
provides day care and after-school programs while parents work or seek employment. Children com-prise more than 25 percent of our residents.
We are grateful to our 20-year partner, the Miami Dade County Homeless Trust, and we look forward to one day, together, ending homelessness in our community. We thank the dedicated Chapman Board members, hardworking staff and all of our caring vol-unteers for their support in enabling Chapman Part-nership to continue to be an incredible success story.
With appreciation,
Trish Bell
CHAIRMAN’S LETTER
Chapman Partnership was awarded its second consecutive Charity Navigator 4-star rating, the highest ranking bestowed to a non-profit organization for exceeding in-dustry standards and outperforming other charities in America.
As the recipient of a four-star rating out of four, Chapman Partner-ship is acknowledged for sound fiscal management, transparency and accountability. Only 16 percent of charities evaluated by the rating service receive at least two consecutive 4-star designations.
“This exceptional designation from Charity Nav-igator differentiates Chapman Partnership from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust,” said H. Daniel Vincent, executive direc-tor of Chapman Partnership.
“This is a statement to our commitment to making sure valuable dollars are spent on those who need it most at this time in their lives – the
homeless,” he said.Chapman Partner-
ship, formerly Community Partnership for Homeless, spends 84 percent of its in-come on programs for the homeless. Administrative and fundraising expenses account for only 16 percent
of its income.Charity Navigator’s evaluation of a charity’s
financial health – which examines daily man-agement of finances and the ability to sustain programs over time – help millions of donors make better giving decisions. By logging onto www.charitynavigator.org, donors can deter-mine which charities have “best practices” that minimize the chance of unethical activities and whether they freely share basic information about their organization to stakeholders, along with the traditional Charity Navigator matrices.
