Established in 1961, the Monash Student Association (MSA) is the representative body for all Monash Clayton students. We’re here to serve and advocate for students while making the university experience exciting, engaging and fun!

MSA is made up of elected student representatives and support staff who represent all Clayton campus students on general issues such as quality of education, course costs and student welfare, as well as specific issues such as women’s and queer affairs.

We run the Orientation Festival, Clubs Day, Sir John’s Bar, the vegetarian restaurant Wholefoods, Student Theatre, Volunteering, Training and Professional Development, the student magazine Lot’s Wife, and MSA Activities, plus provide funding for all recreational clubs on the Clayton campus.

Roaming promotion provides you with an opportunity to move around the festival area and engage directly with students. A 10 percent discount is available on roaming promotion bookings of three or more days, and a 25 percent discount is available to sponsors who also book a festival marquee or premium space. Booking deadline: 5 p.m., Friday, March 6, 2020.

Place your branded product directly into students’ hands with a showbag booking. A quantity of 7,500 is required, and preference is given to product samples over paper inserts. Products must be delivered to MSA by Thursday, January 16, 2020 for inclusion.

M S A T E R M S A N D C O N D I T I O N SAdvertising or Partnerships will not be accepted if the advertisement, or partnership, or advertiser or sponsor:

1. Contravenes the MSA Constitution;

2. Portrays people or depicts material in a way that discriminates against or vilifies a person or section of the communit or directly

or indirectly discriminates against or vilifies a person or section of the community on the basis of race, ethnicity, nationality, sex,

gender, age, sexual orientation, religion, disability or political belief;

3. Is considered to be misleading or deceptive or is considered to engage in misleading or deceptive conduct;

4. Promotes, supports or contributes to (including by investment) environmental damage including but not limited to:

• Commercial activities which either import timber or timber products from or actively

deforest old growth forests and rainforest;

• Chemical companies;

• Companies which fail to attempt to address their contribution to climate change;

• Companies involved in the mining, processing and sale of petroleum;

• Companies engaged in native forest woodchipping either via woodchip processing,

ownership of mills or export of woodchips;

• Mining companies;

• Companies that test on live animals;

• Any company known to have contravened legislation protecting endangered species,

emission and production of CFC’s and other Ozone depleting chemicals;

• Companies which engage in uranium mining, transport or processing, nuclear energy production

or nuclear waste disposal;

• Companies that generate or sell products containing any genetically modified material;

• Companies that use plastic bags in any way as part of the partnership agreement;

5. Promotes the use of or is involved in the manufacture of tobacco products;

6. Promotes the use of illegal substances;

7. Promotes gambling;

8. Promotes weapons and ammunition; or is involved in the manufacture or transfer of armaments, torture equipment or other

equipment used in the violation of human rights;

9. Promotes or engages in “adult services” (such as brothels, escort services, phone sex and similar services) or pornography;

10. Promotes or engages in unethical practices in animal care and husbandry, including caged egg production, blood sports,

the fur trade or animal testing;

11. Does not take a responsible position with regard to fair trade or labour rights or:

• Contravenes union agreed standards of pay and conditions;

• Actively seeks to destroy the effectiveness of unions;

• Attempts to prevent unions from representing their employees;

• Provides inhumane working conditions for some or all of their employees;

12. Portrays, promotes, implies or suggests any other thing which, in the reasonable view of the MSA Executive or

Sponsorship and Events Officer would damage the reputation, standing or brand of the MSA.

B O O K I N G A G R E E M E N TI understand that my booking is not accepted until I have received confirmation from MSA. 6 I understand that payment is due immediately upon confirmation of booking acceptance and I understand that my booking is not secure until MSA has received my payment. 6 All advertising and promotions are subject to the MSA terms and conditions. I have read and understood the MSA terms and conditions checklist printed in the partnership kit and am signing as an acknowledgement that the organisation I am representing is not in breach of the checklist at any level; local, regional, corporate or otherwise. 6 Artwork not meeting the requested specifications will not be accepted. I agree that the placement of advertisements, where not specified, is at the full discretion of MSA. 6 Refunds will not be issued for any reason (including but not limited to cancellations or ejections) once a booking form has been submitted. 6 If booking an O-Fest marquee, I understand that the recommended number of staff to suit a 3m x 3m marquee space is two and that I may bring a maximum number of five staff to my space. If more than five staff attend there will be a charge of $200 per extra person per day. 6 I will stay within the limitations of my space booking and will not roam or place signage or other promotional material beyond the 3m x 3m space of my marquee or the limits of my premium space or as otherwise advised by the MSA sponsorship and events officer. I understand that I am entitled to one warning if I disregard this rule, after which I may be ejected from the event without refund. 6 I understand that I may not serve food or drinks in any form without prior approval from the MSA sponsorship and events officer. 6 I consent to MSA photographing, filming or otherwise recording my promotional activity for future use. 6 In the event that my overdue account is referred to a collection agency and/or law firm, I will be liable for all costs which would be incurred as if the debt is collected in full, including legal demand costs. 6 Overdue accounts will be subject to interest at the rate of 25%, calculated for the period the account is due until the date it is paid.
