Fr. Keith’s KornerFr. Keith’s KornerFr. Keith’s KornerFr. Keith’s Korner During the month of August our Social Justice

Ministry collected donations of/for school supplies for low-income kids in Frederick County Public Schools. Through your generosity, we were able to deliver $1800 in Gift Cards to Zoe Carson, the FCPS Homeless Student Coordinator, as well as five twelve-gallon bins of actual school supplies. I am always inspired by the goodness and caring love that flow out of this faith community and into the neighboring community! Please remember that during September we are collecting donations of nutritious snacks for the same students. Next weekend our Together Growing in Faith (TGIF) and Homestudy Faith Formation programs get started for the fall season. I remind you that forming our personal sense of faith is a life-long process, and that people of all ages are welcome at our TGIF sessions. If you are looking for some way to be more involved in your parish, our annual Ministry Fair next weekend may help you to find the right spot to share your time and talent. There has been a lot of buzz in the Frederick community about the $100 rebate checks that the County Commissioners will be mailing to homeowners this month. Because funding to many non-profit organizations serving the needy of the Frederick community was cut to help create this surplus, our Social Justice Ministry is offering parishioners the opportunity to sign over their rebate checks to some of those non-profit service organizations to help restore that funding. I invite you to seriously consider this option for your household, and consult the informative insert in the bulletin this weekend for more details. Every two years the priests of the Archdiocese of Baltimore gather for a two-day convocation to examine important issues facing us as leaders in the church. I ask your prayers for the gathering taking place this week.
