Baton Rules
Two people cannot hold the baton at once
One person cannot hold two batons at any time

Baton Practice - SLOW
1 baton per table, face the table, turn to LOOK and PASS the baton
After 2 min – BLUE batons rotate 1 table to the right
After 4 min – GREEN batons rotate 1 table to the left

Baton Practice - FAST
1 baton per table, hip to table, NO looking, focus on speed
After 2 min – YELLOW batons rotate 2 tables to the right
After 4 min – RED batons rotate 2 table to the left

The Race of Life
The race is about the baton, not the runners.
The relay brings out the best in everyone.
Every team member should be prepared to run in all positions
It is a good idea to practice the baton pass.
Practice until the handover becomes instinctual.

The Race of Life
Practice under pressure.
The last runner must be chosen carefully.
The baton exchange should occur at very close maximum speed.
A baton drop does not automatically disqualify a team.

Baton Practice - SYNCHRONIZATION
1 baton per person, face outward, NO looking, focus on synchronization
After 2 min – ORANGE batons rotate 2 tables to the right
After 5 min – PURPLE batons rotate 2 table to the left
