What is the active voice?

Active voice is a style of writing that puts the subject at the beginning of the sentence, followed by an action,

and then the object that receives the action. The subject is the doer of the action.

What is the passive voice?

Passive voice is a style of writing that puts the object at the beginning of the sentence and makes it the subject,

followed by an action, and then the subject becomes the agent preceded by the preposition “by”. The subject is

the receiver of the action.

What do active & passive voices look like?

Active Voice Form: Subject + main verb + object +..... Passive Voice Form: Subject + helping verb (be) +past participle + preposition ”by” + object +.... How do verbs change when turning active to passive voices? In the passive voice, verb to be carries the tense of the main verb in the active voice.

Study very well the structure of the verb in each tense as it appears in the table above.
