February 1, 2012 – The Online Accreditation Renewal program went live and had it’s first user

On June 5, 2012 – The MIOSHA – Asbestos Program received a Reinvention Patent Award for Innovative Ideas for Increased Productivity

Awarded for increased productivity, elimination of unnecessary or duplicative processes, increased cost savings, improved quality of service and simplified work processes

Accreditation:

Photos: NO beards, goatees, chin hair, etc.; No hats or head coverings; No dark glasses

Photos too dark…make sure the person can be clearly seen in the photo

Photos – need head and shoulders - don’t cut off a person’s head, chin or shoulders

Call before coming into the office to make sure someone is available to help

Certificate of Liability Insurance

Issue date must be within the last 30 days (upper right corner)

Certificate Holder must be the MIOSHA-Asbestos Program (lower left corner)

Worker’s Compensation must be > 30 days from expiration

List of employees – Use either the FULL SSN or Accreditation Number

**If your employees take out-of-state training, be sure to supply a copy of their most recent refresher training certificate as well.**

• Who uses One Stop?• Asbestos Abatement Contractors and/or Demolition Contractors in

order to complete the online notification of intent to renovate/demolish form. Currently MDEQ is using this option with a future development with LARA-Asbestos Program.

Future - ONE STOP

• In the process of development for accepting online notifications submitted through ONE STOP

• This will be another way to submit notifications to MIOSHA without having to print, fax, or e-mail

• Once the notification is submitted on ONE STOP, it will be directed to the correct agency (MIOSHA and/or DEQ) based on notification type, footage, and materials
