In mining, safety is always the primary concern. This also applies to the V-belts that are used in underground mines.Optibelt V-belts satisfy the inspection requirements concerning technical fi re and electrostatic product characteristics.DMT (Deutsche Montan Technologie),the centre for fi re protection in Dortmund, Germany, carried out the testing of the technical fi re characteristics, awarding the appropriate certifi cation.The testing of the electrostatic characteris-tics was carried out by the EXAM BBG product testing and certifi cation centre for explosion protection in mining.The Norm DIN 22100-7 specifi es both the scope of the product test and the test criteria. As shown in the product illustration, the Optibelt V-belts intended for use in mining are specially labelled.
