JBC’s JBC’s Bridge Loaning Library is here!Bridge Loaning Library is here!

JBC has started a Bridge Library. If you have old bridge books that you no longer need, we can recycle them in the best way! We loan them to other players. This is a typical library system, where the books will need to be signed out and returned.

Please consider helping us grow new bridge players. Donate your old books to the cause.

Happy reading!

BRIDGEMATE PROTOCOLSince there are varied thoughts on this topic, let’s establish JBC BRIDGEMATE

PROTOCOL and let’s adhere to it, please. (Suggestions welcomed and considered – this will be a fluid process till we get it right.) Thank you for following this:

ONLY NORTH WILL HANDLE THE BRIDGEMATE- North will hold the device and offer EW the ACCEPT button- EW will hit the ACCEPT button and LET GO of the device- North will BRIEFLY look at the result, and NOT READ ALOUD- North will hold the OK button down and offer the screen to EW- North will hold the OK button down and offer the screen to South

At no time will anyone but North have a reason (except at the end of the game) to actually HOLD the device.

Also being considered is removal of prior results altogether to speed up the game!

PLEASE…We have seen some of you parking in the Systek Visitors parking. Although these are marked VISITORS, they are STILL reserved for Systek.

Even if you have a handicapped placard, you may still NOT park in someone else’s spot. We apologize for this, but we are not allowed to have players park in spaces reserved for others.

If you require a parking spot near to the entrance, please plan to arrive early so you can get one.

Ask us about parking at the side entrance!

DUMMY MAY:• touch the cards on the table ONLY to rearrange them• inform declarer of a trick turned the wrong way, only immediately

DUMMY MAY NEVER:• ask a DEFENDER about not following suit• play a card until it’s called for – even a singleton!• call attention to any irregularity during the play – only afterward• call the director during the play – only afterward• question partner’s choice of cards (did you mean the King?)• infer/suggest a line of play by hand movement or verbally
